Looking for a new vacuum and tossing up between this and the Electrolux UltraFlex Animal Allergy. In my research this vacuum came up a lot. I'm not sure it's the one for me, but hopefully someone else is in the market and might find it helpful.

Did a quick postcode lookup for delivery to capital cities.

Sydney delivery - free
Queensland delivery - free
Darwin delivery - $20
Melbourne delivery - $20
Adelaide delivery - $40
Canberra delivery - $80 (insane)

Appliances Online will match this price if you're more comfortable going with them (as of yesterday, Sydney delivery). I'm sure other places will also pricematch - I'm not sure on the end date for this price though.

any other good deal on the cordless?

    Good price.
This should be just fine on hard floors.
However as per my research, DC37 doesnt come with a brush bar in the head and hence its effectiveness on carpets and picking up pet hair is fairly limited.

The Electrolux you mentioned is better in that regards cause it has Turbo Brush (suction propelled).

I myself have been looking for a powerful vacuum and since I have all carpets with a lot of hair being shed on it, motorised brush bar(motor powered) becomes an important requirement for me, along with strong suction (air watts).

    Cheers.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/176335. I'd wait for a deal like this. Awesome vacuum for $199.

    • It was indeed an excellent deal. That vacuum has a motorised brush bar.
I missed out while I was deciding whether I wanted a barrel or an upright and doing my research :(
Barrel it is for me, cause of pure ease of use it is easier on the back while vacuuming.

      Cheers

    • I saw that one when I started properly looking over the weekend. Sad that I missed it, but don't know how frequently that kind of thing comes around, and my current vac has been made mostly non-functional by some tradies borrowing it to clean up plaster dust.

Godfrey's sales on popular vacs don't come around too often in my experience. If you need one now I'd get it sooner rather than later

Harvey norman sell this for $398, i went there today to ask for a pricematch and they accepted. But once i look at the clean head there are motorised brush as mention above which is useless for me, my carpet got hair… So they mention the dc54 but the price abit high, end up buying the dc50 upright which is quite portable and it has the motorised brush. Bought for $598 price match the good guys.
When home set it up and clean my carpet straight away, worth the money, my carpet is very clean, no hair or dust, the vacuum itself is not noisy, at least not as noisy as my current over 10years old one.
Easy to store away, can be use to clean your car too, yes the handle can be remove to make it use as regular vacuum…

I would say put in extra cash for a motorised brush if you have carpet…

I was thinking of getting a cordless one but my sister said at work she have one and its not very good. Also i check online and the time use is about 6-30minutes depend on how much power you want it to suck…

    • Cordless ones are designed to be for in between or spot cleaning. Can only clean a whole house if it was say a 1 or two bedroom flat at best.

  • Does HN have a 30-day price guarantee like Goodguys? I bought this vacuum just a week ago, I should have saved $50 if bought now. =(

  • dysons are great vacuums, we have an upright, a barrel and a cordless one :) If you have animals it is worth spending the extra for the animal models.

    • Do you know what features the animal models have over this, other than the turbine head?
If you add the cost of a turbine head to this model, it still comes out significantly cheaper than the animal models.
The animal models must have more powerful and more efficient engines.

        • DC54 models have a no suction loss guarantee due to the technology behind it. There is a test to be done on vacuums before they can slap that quote on them but that test is 20 years old and outdated.

Currently to pass the test, a vacuum needs to suck up 50g of dirt (equivalent to a chocolate bar) and not lose suction and then it can claim such a thing, 50g is nothing these days. The DC54 were tested and can suck up 10 years worth of dirt and still go.

Dyson is trying to get the test updated so less companies can make such claim.

        • Dc54 also have no bags as well as no filters whereas the dc37 do.

        • Comes with more attachments for different situations

—Also note the turbine head that you can buy is different and not as good as the updated version that can only come with DC54 allergy and higher models.

          Thanks for the explanation buddy.

  • looks like it's out of stock as of 2:45 PM

    • Have marked it as expired. Thanks!

They seem to be back in stock. I just added one to my cart. Maybe they "found" some new stock.

  • Just ordered one. Thanks op.
Just got a call from Betta. Stock will be available in 2 weeks.

  • I bought one of these early last week when another sale was on. I got it for $345 from The Good Guys. Think the sale price was $346, but they price matched and made it $1 cheaper.

It's sucks well and it's better at sucking than any other vacuum I'd had. I bought one from Target the day before which only lasted 10 mins before it stopped dead.

Just happy to have a decent vacuum cleaner for once in my life.

If you go to Masters they'll price match and give you an extra 10% off too. Did this last time GoodGuys had it on sale.

    • Masters don't price beat appliances only match them. Have done it a few times myself.

      • Worked for me. I got my dyson DC37C last time GoodGuys had it on sale. Went to masters, they checked GoodGuys website then gave me 10% off the online price. Maybe they changed their policy since then.

  • website says it's now 394.

    • Have marked as expired.
