Seeking Taronga Zoo advice. Parking, deals

The family is planning to finally visit Taronga Zoo and I would love to maybe get some input from fellow ozbargainers.

I know public transport is encouraged from how their website is presented, and that would be cool, but since I'll be coming from the central coast and the prospective members of this expedition is a full car load, I'm wondering if there is ample parking around the area? Would driving your own car even be advisable?

Next, I've failed to find any relevant deals regarding Taronga Zoo at the moment, does anyone know of any?

And finally, any tips anyone have to further maximise the experience and the bargains? :)

  Yes, there is paid parking at the Zoo. It's a bit away from residences. I haven't been there for a while, but I wouldn't be surprised if neighbouring streets are no parking or have stringent conditions, so I wouldn't hope for on-street parking.

    Incorrect. There is street parking with no restrictions barely a 5 minute walk from the zoo entrance.

  If you are a member of NRMA this is a good deal. And yes there is parking at the Zoo.

  I assume you are talking about Taronga Zoo?

  There is a plenty of parking around Taronga Zoo (if you are ok with walking), I usually park about 5-10mins away and go bush walking around the area.

  Apparently hungry kids meals come with free kids entry to the zoo ~ saving of 20+ dollars. Hope that helps.
