VPNArena VPN Subscription 14% off Code - USD $50.74 for a Year

30
bestvpn

Use the code "bestvpn" on VPNArea to get a 14% discount on their VPN subscription service which includes more Australian servers than most others, with locations in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, in addition to servers in 49 other countries.

VPNs such as this are great for accessing geo-blocked content (eg. NetFlix/Hulu etc.), buying stuff from international online stores (eg. Origin) + helping your computer security by encrypting/hiding your internet activity in public locations or from your ISP/goverment (ie. a certain ridiculous forthcoming data retention policy)

No data logs
P2P Allowed
256bit AES Encryption
Uses shared IPs
Accepts payment using Bitcoins, Credit Card, Payza, PayPal
Company based in Bulgaria (no Data Rentention), data stored in Switzerland (excellent data protection laws and P2P downloading is legal)
5 simultaneous devices
Good (if not excellent) performance results
Dedicated IPs available
Servers in lots of countries, including many exotic/unusual locations
Great customer support
Fantastic Windows client with all the bells and whistles you could hope for (although Kill Switch app compatibility needs some work)
Good support for other platforms (Mac App under active development)
Lots of DNS servers

  • How good are their servers? Ghostpath at $5 a month works fine for me.

    • +1

Never heard of these guys. I also use Ghostpath but they are based out of the US and keep server logs for 7 days. Looking to make the switch to somewhere else.. This is an awesome article on some different providers if you haven't seen it already.

      • Torrentfreak is the last source I'd trust for a review like that given the amount of garbage they churn out on a regular basis but suit yourself.

        • How so? They asked each provider 8 direct questions. Hard to find this information anywhere else unless you know a better source?

        • @zuccs:
I found the user comments on those torrentfreak articles to be helpful. Often you get contradictory evidence to what torrentfreak discovered.

  • I am in the market for a VPN service provider in Sydney. Apart from Ghostpath and VPNArea, who are the other providers with whom users have positive or negative experience?

    • I've been using IronSocket and very impressed with their service.

  • I'd perhaps gamble $40 on 1terabyte but have not yet noted a service to meet this market.
ie same way I bought a usenet block.

  • Anyone know if this will be fast enough to stream geo-blocked videos from Japan? I want to access some channels on nicovideo but I've not had luck with other VPNs.

    • Just tried. Only getting 180 Kb/s from Osaka2, which is not enough.
It's still the fastest one I've tried yet
