Hey All,
Any one got experience with Western Digital 2TB or 4TB My Cloud Network Storage. I am looking to setup a common personal cloud storage for my home so that my movies & videos are available through out. Don't want to go into the hassle of connecting/disconnecting external harddrives.
Anyone setup a NAS on home network? I dont want the NAS server with swappable disks. Just thinking a network storage could be great. Anyone used this one of the seagate central? Or suggest if there are anything good outside
To get most compatibility your WD would need to support DLNA/uPnP. I think they do to an extent but you'll have to do your own research as to what is does support. Be aware you generally can't install your own software modules so what you get is what you get. You are also limited in bandwidth and what 1 hard disk can stream to multiple devices.
I THINK if you are doing one to one streaming and you have like a WD TV Live for each TV this will be fine.
If you want to stream to BluRay players, Smart TVs, home theatres, PCs, and tablets like I do with 3 simultaneous streams this is the wrong way to go about things. A proper NAS would be a far better choice.
