Aquarium Starter Kit $29 @ Hurstville NSW Kmart

40

Saw this at Hurstville Kmart but maybe countrywide. 20L tank with filter, pebbles, fish net, fake plant. Excludes lighting.

Seems like a good price compared to other aquarium of each size being over $50. Can't vouch for the quality of the products.

Enjoy.

I've looked around, seems to be the standard price.

  • It has been this price for the past few years - sorry OP

Plus the filter in it is rubbish, we went through 2 replacements (each breaking within 1-2 weeks) before we gave up and paid $50 for a bigger tank kit from a pet store (Petbarn) which works a lot better.

  • I would suggest that you dont buy these - imo they are too small to keep fish alive for more than the short term. The small body of water is open to wild temperature and water chemistry fluctuations. And you really cant keep more than A few small-medium fish in that size. Unless space is an issue, it really isnt much more work to maintain a 80-100L + tank.

  • I'm pretty sure I've seen this price regularly.

  • I have bought this kit before when it was on sale for $20 at Kmart. It is a good beginner's kit in my opinion. Even at the normal price it isn't bad compared to some other similar size tanks.

  • I have several of these! i am a successful shrimp breeder and find these tanks great for small planted shrimp tanks. Mine look absolutly amazing and all my shrimp stay alive. I have to say i actually deliberately buy these filters as cheapies, they are well sealed and in my opinion, they last. This is a great starter kit…. BUT it is always this price!!
