    • +4

think you forgot the + junk retailer

  • +4

And Mr shaw what junk phone do use and what junk network u use ?
Vodafail in some areas is pretty good and sometimes better than the other overloaded networks
overun by smartphones checking farcebook every millisecond…..

    • +1

Totally agree, in Gold Coast around Robina, my Vodafail let Telstra 4G smoke s!#@ :)

    • And Mr shaw what junk phone do use and what junk network u use ?

Definitely not a Samsung (Or Apple) device, and definitely not Vodafone ;).

      • +1

And definitely not telling us… Go figure!!!

edit: Come back and see us when you actually have something constructive to add to the listing!

        • A Nexus 5 running Lollipop and 2Degrees? Is that ok? :)

        • @Shaw:

          All when in Australia.

It would appear that this deal is for VF Australia.
Although we appreciate it, giving us your thoughts on a NZ carrier isn't really relevant to this deal!

But please let us know how the Nexus betters other mobiles.
(I've only used iPhones in the past and now the Galaxy… as well as a host of Nokias, Ericssons, Palms, etc.)

        • @Snoop:

Not sure what you are getting at.

I'm not giving my thoughts on an NZ carrier at all, I am referring to my personal experience with Vodafone Au over a number of years. Dick Smith aren't too great themselves, on either side of the Tasman…

Many reasons, but with OZB in mind, it is largely the fact it is half the price of equivalent devices from other manufacturers. Also, if you aren't into flashing custom roms, try comparing vanilla Android to any of the heavily modded manufacturer roms, packed full of bloatware.

        • @Shaw:

Just saying that you can't really compare your experience with VF in Oz compared to 2degrees in NZ. But if you want to compare it to other Oz telcos, then I'm open to suggestion.
From personal experience Telstra is by far superior with coverage and data speed… but at a hefty cost! Optus was always hit and miss in areas, had slower data speeds, and generally didn't have the best plans going around. And of the big 3, that leaves VF. They've always been on the forefront here in terms of pricing and add ons and had reasonably good coverage and data speeds. Over the last few years, and since taking on a lot of extra users, and I must admit, the quality of connection has dropped and even I have had several calls dropping out. Data speeds don't seem to be the greatest anymore either and can be very inconsistent. But on average, I'm yet to find better value for money plans around!

        • @Snoop:

I've used all 3 in the past, and had no issues with Telstra or Optus where I was located, but the Vodafone reception was poor and the downloads speeds equally slow, even though the website map showed maximum coverage. Their support was also atrocious, with many false claims, or not knowing basic information.

However, this is going back a couple of years, although from what I have gathered it isn't any better now.

Having a good priced plan doesn't mean much if there are dropouts/lack of coverage to use the data allocation.

For an extra $10 on Optus you can get an extra 2GB data, however without the international calls, but a Skype sub is only ~$8 a month with the half price deals.

I must agree regarding the Telstra pricing though.

This doesn't consider as sale, it is rip off. Best to buy the phone and a SMART TV separate.

  • a mobile plan worth seventy.dollars.a.month? (840 p.a.)
    o_O /

just run myself 1year's Skype @1.60pm
    300-intl mins including Aus. :)

    • Does that get you a $600 phone?

      • I think their Y550 model huawei will do most of those functions.
Expect to pay ~40-$50 next year for that..off-contract i reckon.

      • I wouldn't find a s5 very new the day it's paid off finally..in 2017…
No ability to switch as it suits generally sucks as well.

Otoh Maybe someone will want a tv set ?
        You never know..:-)
