Hi,
I am looking for a new stroller. Not in any rush, but happy to buy any time if a good deal comes through.
Looking for a good and value for money sort of option.

also what is your budget?
Check out if there is a baby and kids market in your area. The A.C.T. market always has a lot of near new strollers that go for a steal.
Choice Magazine is good for reviews too. If you don't want to pay for a subscription, libraries generally have hard copies.
Budget is about $300-$400 and the little one is 6 month old.
Thanks for all your suggestions so far.
My wife bought a Combi Urban Walker Prestige when our son was born. It is very lightweight and easy to fold up/out. You can easily fold it up and lift it in to the boot of a car with only one hand which is very useful if you are by yourself and holding a baby in your other hand. My only dislike is that the handle doesn't extend as far as I would like but I am 187cm tall so it might not be a problem for everyone.
We now use a Bugaboo Bee that I won in a competition and it is a little smoother due to the spring suspension but I missed the easiness of folding the Combi for a while after changing.
You should be able to get a new one (or slightly cheaper model) for around $400 or just buy second hand as suggested above.
I recommend uppababy. My wife was dead set on a bugaboo and 'money was no object' so I had to do a lot of research to find a more affordable option that had similar or better reviews to the bugaboo.
I have the uppababy alta and it's great. You won't need the bassinet attachment now so you should find it within your price range.
Only downside is it takes up quite a bit of boot space.
Try to get one where the child faces you, you are the most important thing to them and they are more settled if they don't feel alone in the world shoved out front to look at strangers.
gumtree, weekend shopper or even ebay
Baby Jogger City Mini GT - we got ours with 20% promo from Amazon as a 'Amazon Mom' member for around $400 delivered beginning of 2013.
Light enough, strong, durable, great wheels and suspension. Lots of helpful well thought out features like fold out back support with mesh for air flow and peek windows. Easy hand brake and very easy to fold and put in and out us the boot.
I was dead against bugaboo because they seemed like the rich persons pram. Kind of like the private school of prams. Then I tried one after resisting so long and the cameleon was just awesome.
We just sold our 2008 one for $300. It was in great condition and still going strong, and still an absolutely wonderful pram. Just didn't need it any more but I'd recommend looking at the used market for a good one of those, in our experience they are amazing. Good luck.
6 months old should be able to sit in a stroller between now and in a few months time depending on the baby size. Look for one that fits in the car, some strollers are quite tall when folded. Second, some might find the basket below handy especially for grocery shopping. Some stollers can recline nearly flat blocking access to the basket but your child will sleep better. Most strollers are around your budget so look around.
Was set on combi due to its lightweight. But never got over the way the frame flexed all over the place. Ended up getting bugaboo cameleon 2 (end of line just before release of cameleon 3) on sale from toys r us.
One of best purchase for the kid, sturdy frame, solid design. Each component comes apart so repairs or consumable like the wheels can be replaced easily. 2 years later the pram is still as good as new. Only changed the front wheels once.
Great idea to buy in second hand market, just purchase new canvas fabric cover set ~$100 for hygiene. The frame backbone will stand the test of time. It's that good.
After having a Phil&teds for out first two kids , we realised that a regular pusher for $40 is fine. Our third child is not a drug addict from being pushed around in it.
Seriously- they are light weight, easy to maneuver and compact when folded.
Interesting that I got 4 negs for saying that your child wants to face you and not strangers out in front. Which part of that statement backed up by research, did people not like I wonder?
Thanks guys for taking time to comment and provide some really good feedback and recommendations. It matters a lot to me. Thanks and much appreciated.
We got a Combi Miracle Turn DX initially. We wanted something light, small, reversible (but still front steer) and there wasn't anything else available. Beauty is that you can double fold and it stands up, taking up bugger all space (great in restaurants). The monster sized prams/strollers weren't really our thing but I can see the attraction.
Problem with the Combi is the small wheels. When crossing the road and have to slow right down and lift the front wheels over the crossover/kerb. I kick the pram all the time when we set it up in rear facing. It gets really hard to turn when loaded up.
Now we are onto a double stroller and bought the cheapest/lightest one that could accommodate a capsule and let my first child stand or sit. It also needed to not require me to buy a skateboard, capsule attachment and additional seat. We got a Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight. It is freaking huge (long) but it's so easy to steer and my 1st child doesn't need to sit underneath like on some strollers. Also like the fact it can really recline like the Combi instead of some popular double prams sold here. Still too heavy for my liking.
All right guys, just bought Baby Jogger City mini GT from babybunting for $598.. Over and done with.
Thanks for feedback.
stroller or pram? how old are your gremlins?
