It's a good deal. Cheapest stores have quoted me is $329 in Harvey Norman.

Took my foot off my wifes head after 29 minutes 50 seconds under 1 meter of water and can confirm the watch was OK
"there's no need to fear dust and survive water up to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes."

  • Compare to Gear2? Which one is better?

without a doubt LG Watch 2 is miles ahead

    • +1

The gear 2 has more features
Android wear is pretty much just notifications
Go for the gear 2 if you want more functionality e.g. making calls and have a Samsung phone
Go for the lg if you want something stylish that actually looks like a watch with the ability to interact with some notifications

Pay the extra $30 and buy from Harvey Norman. Easier warranty. Stack with the $50 amex deal if you still can. My first one had dead pixels and took over a month to get my money back from a local online shop due to the standard local warranty procedures. Probably take longer overseas. I imagine HN will do an on the spot swap if yours is DOA.

  • No complaint with the half-cost predecessor one either. I think it could have a slight greater surface/display area equivalent internals. Finished upgrade to A 5 material design, smooth operation and gold white model looks stylish. Cards scale nicely those seeking alternative.
