  • Hmm, LG 42LB6500 or Sony 60" KDL60W600B? What do you guys reckon?

    • There's pretty much no way to answer this question. 18" is a huge size difference, and they're clearly intended for different spaces.

    • Lol that's a big difference, would depend on how big your room is but this model craps all over the Sony 600b

    • If it's going in a large lounge area then 60" all the way. 42" more suited for a bedroom or office (although still a bit too big for my liking).

    • If it's for a lounge, get the 60. No 3d but great TV.

  • Thanks, what if I re-word it to which one has a better value? First time buying a TV - I've read on the specs but I'm caught up with deciding which has a better value.

    • If you don't 'need' the size of a 60" panel (as you suggested this is the first time buying a TV in recent times) then I'd go with the LG. You can then spend the difference getting the 42" wall mounted (much better use of space) and move up to a bigger TV in a few years.

      • Alright, thank you all for the replies! Love it, I'll go with the 42"!

        • Let us know how it goes :)

        • Great choice! Bigger is not always better and you'll be over the moon with this TV. You can always upgrade in 3-5yrs to a bigger TV.

  • If you can fit the 60 inch, then get that. You'll kick yourself getting a 42 inch.

    • Agreed there, buy the 60"..lol in several years time get a bigger TV to fit a wall and retire the smaller TV to the bedroom. As to the value equation, they're both excellent buys, coming from my original 42" Panasonic plasma with a separate lg HD box,lol,3.5x more expensive than the Sony,, heh heh

  • Bought this for $649 a few months ago with $50 TGG voucher.

Great TV, won't disappoint. However the OS is a tad laggy at times, which does hinder your ability to actually go into the TV tuner.

  • Looks like you could get iView with this as a native app.

Is the OS really slow - ie annoyingly so?

  • I bought this (for more $$$) and unfortunately it does not seem to have mini TV function so I cannot watch TV on my tablet. The LG apps seem a bit dysfunctional but it is a good price.
