Then technically the price in the Title should be $149.00.
Too bad it's only the Z-2300… If the Z-5500 was going for even double that price, I'd be on it!

    • Yeah I still dont know how they managed the $199 price from ttp://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/17550
hopefully we'll be seeing that special again someday soon.

Z2300 are great speakers if you're looking for a 2.1 set though

  • 37.37 postage to Adelaide makes it 186.37

cheaper to do an msy price match at OW as they do take shipping into account……

I've got a set (purchased a few years back at MSY for ~$250 =/) and while they do have a lot of oomph in terms of bass and can get EXTREMELY loud if turned up all the way, I probably wouldn't purchase another set.

Reason being is that sound clarity is slightly lower than what I personally prefer, which can make it hard to make out dialogue in some movies. With that said, if you're looking for big booms and volume (great for gaming and general entertaining) then the z2300 are a good set to go with.

An alternative to this would be the Edifier S330 2.1 set. While the wattage of the speakers are about half of the Logitech's power, the sound quality is MUCH better and clearer. These speakers are just big in bass, that is all. I bet half of you who are thinking about buying these speakers rarely even go up to halfway on these speakers, which is a waste, really.

If you want sound quality, PC Case Gear have these speakers for $109 + $23 shipping:

Logitech do make good speakers, but Edifier make better ones. It may be entirely subjective, as you may prefer bigger bass, but I know about 4 people who have owned both speakers and the Edifier ones come out as the champion.

    • I bet half of you who are thinking about buying these speakers rarely even go up to halfway on these speakers

Too true. I barely go above 15% volume on my z-2300 and very rarely put it up to 25-50% just for kicks. I've never actually put it up to 100%, as at that level there is so much sound generated that I would probably be reported for sound disturbance by my neighbours :P

  • I got one, just to calm the grief for missing the z-5500 @$199 - Hopefully in the future I could get a set of z-5500 for <$200

  • I bought them with a freight of $9, and after confirming the order they came up with $27, what is totally unacceptable.
