bad color match is not cool. having said that fossil leather bags are usually good quality. very sturdy.

So… deal or no deal?
It's s good deal - about half the price of the regular sale price (sometimes Myer does 30% off). There's more options and colours available… The post here doesn't really do the deal justice. Fossil bags are awesome but they get hit by the Australia Tax and Amazon and Macy's won't/rarely ship them to Australia directly.

This isn't a bargain. It's just a stupidly expensive bag that's not quite so stupidly expensive anymore. But still too expensive.

Good point about the 10 years+. If that's true, then it could be a genuine money-saving purchase, in the long-term. With a lot of use, cheap bags (under $20) are lucky to last 2 years, in my experience. I still stand by the clown comment… but apparently it comes in other colours.
Tons of cow hide leather bags on etsy.com, some more expensive, some much cheaper. I wont argue if you want the Fossil branding, or if you have very specific requirements that only the Fossil bag meets (seems unlikely), but there are in fact many other options without the premium that comes with the tag.
Cool, I've never been able to find a new leather bag on etsy for cheaper, only more expensive… I expect because I don't really know how to search properly on there… do you have any recommended stores?
Agreed, although I don't think it's just the term "cow hide leather" that indicates quality. I have had a few leather bags break at the seams so workmanship and quality control must account for something, still. That said, my hardest-wearing leather bag is not a Fossil. I do have a Fossil coated canvas bag and that one is really tough — I have not had a broken strap or seam in 5+ years of constant abuse.
