Looking for Large Computer Mouse

As the title suggests I am looking for a large mouse as I have very large hands.

Currently I have a Corsair M60 and a Logitech G400 which are ok but both too small, and I have a Logitech M510 which is garbage.

The problem is claw grip gives me cramps after a hour or 2 and as I use a computer for work my wrist/hand can get very sore.

For example if I place the M60 or G400 on my index and middle fingers its barely the length of my fingers, and if I try to palm grim them my palm covers the whole mouse and my fingers are sticking over the edge of the buttons by about 3 inches.

If anyone knows some large computer mouses (preferably well made ones) I'd like to know and might end up buying one.

Thanks for any help.

  • Try the Func MS3 R2

Very large mouse adapted for palm grippers. It costs $68 from MSY or $71 from Mwave

  • Thanks for the reply.

I just looked up the MS-3 and its actually 3mm shorter than the G400 which is also too small for me.

    • Hmmm..

      How about..

Performance MX (Not a gaming mouse)
      Height:49 mm or 1.93 inches
Width:127 mm or 5.00 inches (this sounds wrong to me, I think it measures closer to 80mm)
      Depth:127 mm or 5.00 inches

G500 (applicable to G500s, newer version of the G500, dimensions are extremely similar)
      Height:44 mm or 1.73 inches
      Width:76 mm or 3.00 inches
      Depth:129.7 mm or 5.10 inches

      G700S
      Height:47 mm or 1.90 inches
      Width:84 mm or 3.30 inches
      Depth:129 mm or 5.10 inches

      Your current G400 mouse
      Height:43 mm or 1.69 inches
      Width:73 mm or 2.87 inches
      Depth:131 mm or 5.16 inche

This data taken from the Logitech Knowledge base. You can keep searching http://support.logitech.com/en_au/product/ until you find a mouse of the biggest dimensions, but I know from firsthand knowledge the G700 was pretty damn big. I have the G500 and MX Performance mouse, and as per the dimensions, the Performance MX is much taller than the G500 and has a suitable palm grip for big handed people, however it's not a gaming mouse meaning that Logitech Gaming Software will not pick it up.

G700s looks like the top pick if you want to go Logitech.

  • steelseries ikari maybe, i dunno they are all roughly the same except "claw" mice which are shorter but wider.

If you're desperate you could look at a Razer Ouroboros or a R.A.T. 5, they seem very adjustable

  • Thanks again for the replies.

I'm actually looking for something a good inch or more longer than the G400, 2" longer would be nearly perfect but I realize I'm going to have a hard time finding anything that big that's well constructed.

I realize there is a lot of mice a few mm longer (G502 for example) but a few mm or even 1-2cm bigger isn't going to make much difference.

More than a dozen times I've spent hours browsing forums and searching google for large mice but so far I have only found a novelty mouse (that works) but its pretty crappy.

I have uploaded some pics of the mouse I am using here at home (M60), you can see my finger tips sticking pass the mouse and id actually move them back about 1cm from there if I was using it. If I palm the mouse my fingers dont even touch the mouse anymore, they are completely hanging over it.

The image makes the mouse look bigger than it really is as its sitting up about 2" from my hand but still its enough to see the size problem.

I think the problem is people underestimate when others say they are looking for a mouse for large hands as all the recommendations are average sized mice probably from people that have small to medium sized hands. I'm 6'6, size 15 feet and can pick up a basketball with 1 hand, average mice are too small and are starting to cause a lot of pain.

    Have you tried a rat?

  • Yes my brother has a RAT 9, at the largest setting they are only about 120mm, smaller than a G400.

People aren't understanding what I mean by a large mouse, every off the shelf and popular mouse is way too small.

I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to modify one and make the body myself as there doesn't seem to be anything avalible.

    • You could add a bit of padding to the mouse to make it bigger, check this out, there's a post at the bottom.

Try a squirrel then. But you will need to watch your nuts

  • @BobbyJ, that Brando link was the mouse I was talking about before, it's a cheaply made novilty mouse. My hand would fit it like a normal hand would fit a normal mouse but I have read about it on forums from a few people that have bought it that it's very poor quality. The others you have mentioned are smaller than what I already have.

    • Oh okay, try adding padding then?

      • 2 inches of padding isn't going to stick well to the back of the mouse to make it longer and it will just drag all over the table.

Using a 1.25L Pepsi Max bottle from the neck side feels natural and not cramped (its about 2" longer than I need though).

Aside from heavily modifying one I might also have to look into other alternatives to a mouse.

        • looks like you've tried regular mice but have had no luck, depending on what you normally use a mouse for alternatives include something like this optical mouse that attaches to your finger http://www.dx.com/p/novel-3d-optical-finger-mouse-9501 or a larger trackball where your thumb is doing most of the work moving the mouse pointer

  • Logitech G600 is quite a large mouse, very comfortable to use for long periods but you may or may not find much use out of the thumb buttons if you don't play games, I map mine to web browsing and windows functions.
