Hi, does anyone have any recommendations on a great looking dumb TV? I have a HTPC that serves up everything I need and does all the remote control so essentially all I need is a 50" (or so) TV that is Full HD (no interest in 4K at this stage) and has a single HDMI input? I don't really care about smart internet services (which in my experience are normally pretty shoddy) and don't care about 3D (no content) or fancy audio (all handled by a separate receiver) or PVR features. Doesn't even need a digital tuner.
If the recommended 'best value' TV is a smart TV then that is fine, is just that as I don't need the features they have no real value for me, so if I can avoid paying for them then that is great.
Reason for needing new TV is old dumb TV has got too old and blown up. Repairs are going to cost about $300+ which I figure is better put into new modern tv.

If you want to step up from there then hisense or LG for durability and backup service.
Do the rounds of retailers sites for beat prices… good guys, bing lee usually best, sometimes Harvey norman or dick smith? are reasonable.
