Step Down transformer for US Kitchen appliance

Hi folks

I recently purchased a kitchen blender from the states (www.target.com/p/ninja-mega-kitchen-system/-/A-14220757) because its substantially cheaper there than here . I've got a step down transformer I found at home but wanted to be sure it works (before i try it) - This is the step down transformer I have : http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=MF1080

I suppose my question is, will this step down transformer work? The blender has an output of 1500w , does that matter? (I assume only the input matters… and if it takes the standard 110-120V , then a normal transformer would be ok???)

Edit: alternatively, would this one work ?

Thanks!

    No, the one you've linked won't work. It'll probably overheat and possibly blow up.

    P = I * V

    I.e. the wattage you require is the voltage multiplied by the current. Your appliance requires 1500W. That means it'll require something to the magnitude of 13A or something. The transformer you've linked is only rated for 1A. That means this appliance will be drawing 13 times the amount of current.

    The eBay one that you've linked would work, but given that it's so expensive, how much are you really saving?

    No way will the 120W one cover it. Blenders use a shite-load of power.

    The ebay one would be fine.
