No-Buyer's Remorse (Reverse Buyer's Remorse?)

Have you ever regretted NOT taking up a bargain on here before? Normally it's "ooo, bargain, let me buy and save money" and in turn in reality you end up spending extra money as a result.

But I'm now regretting my lack of a purchase. I didn't take up the Quiksilver 24 hour GC sale as I wasn't sure if I could buy it for myself and the Terms and Conditions weren't very clear. I didn't really think it through but in the end didn't bite being worried I wouldn't be allowed to use multiple or buy them for myself as terms and conds were not great as stated. Now after being sucked into their 40% off sale I just blew $202 on their gear. Now the OzBargainer in me is absolutely peeved off. I realise now perhaps I could have just bought my sister the gift cards and gave her the $ to buy my items or whatever. I just wish their sale on Gift Cards wasn't so vague. That $202 I spent I did save $134 or so on but if I went for the gift card offer I could have got it all for something like $122! (If you can use gift cards on sales items, I tried looking at their terms and conds for this as well, but it's not clear)

So by NOT taking up a bargain I've essentially cost myself $80 whereas normally taking up these bargains involves me spending more lol :(

I realise it's the ozbargain way to buy first, ask questions later and not following this golden rule has ruined my year :'(

Are there any bargains you've not bought for any particular reason and regretted it not long after? Am I the only one kicking myself for resisting a bargain that might not have worked? IDK :(

  • I had an opportunity to purchase one of the KMart Wii U's earlier in the year. A friend who is a store manager offered to put one to the side for me. All that I needed to do was to get down to that store within the next few hours. My partner wasn't home and was unavailable to be contacted so I ended up politely declining the opportunity. A couple of days later she proposes that we purchase two Wii U's - one for us and the other for her bestie's kid's major Christmas present. We ended up getting one of the Skylander Wii U's at Big W but spending at least a couple of hundred dollars more for a premium deal at EB.

  • Yep, this one. I knew this price was unbelievable, but when I was about to buy gf got upset, said we already have some good knives and that they'll go on sale again so take some time to think it over and buy it next time they're on sale.

8 months later and the price has never come back close to this :-(

  • +1

I snoozed and losed on the super dry gift cards at 50% off

  • The Suncorp home loan offer. It would have saved us over $1000 per year.

  • Yeah buying gift cards at a discount is a huge gamble. I've done it several times before (JB Hifi, The Good Guys etc) but I'm very reluctant to do it again. The thing is, once you've purchased the gift cards you are committed to buying something there even if they don't have the best price. I guess if you regularly spend thousands at a specific retailer it might be a good deal, but I don't (not even Myer).
