Suggestion for NEGATIVE Votes on OzBargain

Merry XMas & a whole new year is coming, think it's time for OzBargain.com to change the rules!?

. Negative Vote

should be the privilege for people who have at least posted a deal here on OzBargain, they share, they care, and they vote when something is wrong/deal is not good! OzBargain has more & more user now, giving the rights to use the NEGATIVE votes to selfish people is so wrong, and leading to Deals Poster like theearth leaving/not posting anymore deals! http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/126054

. Duplicate Deal
why deleting duplicate deals if the previous deal posted was so long ago (like half a year, 1 year or even older)?
I know there is a search features on this site, but do you think majority of users actually use it? and the search is bad, there are always too many results! If a deal was posted yearssss ago, why can't a new post remind people of the bargain?

  negative votes that do not follow the guidelines and get alot of down votes get revoked automatically, and you can report a invalid negative vote to get it revoked.

  Disagree. All the new people will just post any deal they find, good or bad.

  In all honesty a negative vote doesn't have that much power to only give it to "useful" users.

  Scotty has mentioned many times he doesn't want a division on this site, (generally aimed towards exclusive deals for ozbargain members/contributors)

  I think it's really an issue of just stepping back and thinking about life. How important is a +ve/-ve vote on OzBargain? It's not important at all. Too many people get carried away with positive and negative votes and just end up in -ve vote wars. It's stupid, no need to be butthurt, just move on.

  Same goes for that issue with theearth - who cares if some guy negs your deal. He clearly explained his reasoning and he revoked his neg. Just get over it and move on - there are so many more important things in life.

    try posting a deal and get neg for no valid reason, you'll know how it feel…
    yeah, it's not a big deal! but the feeling also goes as "no one cares" about the deal poster too…

  Some good replies, a timely reminder that negative votes are against the deal/merchant and not against the person/poster and we should never take them personally.
