I'm not looking for any particular deal or bargain. I'm relatively new to Melbourne, and so I would like to ask the community, where's the best place to take the family for shopping on Boxing Day? Is it any one of the DFO's?

Being in the West, we're also considering Highpoint Shopping Centre. Thanks.
Highpoint would be a large shopping centre. I went two years ago and it was crazy so get there early to find a park.
I agree with pink - DFO is only great on "normal" days when all the other shops has no sale
If you are in Melbourne, I would suggest to try Chadstone Shopping Centre. A bit of drive to South East though but once you're there, you may not want to come back to Highpoint though… :-)
Yeah, because its going to take you 2 hours getting into Chadstone and 2 hours getting out of it

We've been to Chadstone a few times. Generally, I agree. For Boxing Day in particular, will the bargains there be much better than what we will find at Highpoint?
Generally yes. If you can come first thing in the morning, you'll snap very good bargains.
At least they have exclusives like Uniqlo, Williams-Sonoma, Muji, etc.

I have never gone to the Boxing Day sales before. Always thought they were just hype.
In my experience DFO wasn't great. Just the same deals. I'd suggest a larger shopping centre with all te larger department and chain stores.
