    • Hey mate, I did check this before posting - can you clarify which section I've missed?

"Reps from Australia must have an ABN or are a Top Rated Seller to Post non-group buy deals"
Is the contentious one, but have put in ABN in the listing.

Let me know and I'll gladly correct or revoke the listing as appropriate.

      • ABN? Top rate?

        • Guidelines indicate ABN or Top Rate. ABN is on the listing.

        • @evilbillybumpkin: I don't see any ABN on the listing.

        • Right above the social media links, it's placed there by the site as I've filled in the field on the listing page.

        • @kaneissik: Bingo. The ABN is listed on the OzBargain site not eBay.

        • @evilbillybumpkin: Wow, I'm stupid. I apologise.

    • fail for holden93

  • $15 postage na student discount from MS cheaper

  • What did you do? Buy a few surface pros a few weeks ago and used the credit to buy the keyboard cheap ? Now you're just selling them ?

Also do you have warranty ? And is it recognised by Microsoft

    • Yeah I had a discount code for the keyboards.

Devices are genuine and brand new so would be covered by statutory manufacturer warranty within Australia.

      • So really this is more a private seller?
And how would the warranty work?
You don't take returns ? So you would have to send the original receipt which would say the price you bought it for?
        What if its DOA ?

The whole not taking returns thing makes me feel like this should be in classified …

And is your abn listed on the eBay store?

        • I can include a receipt issued under my ABN.
Returns aren't required under consumer law for change of mind/found cheaper/etc - and I'm not offering any additional returns beyond consumer rights.
DOA I'll need to check because they're factory sealed, but would be happy to swap the unit if it occurs.

eBay listing is not listed under an eBay store, so the ABN is not listed there.

        • I get the impression from some of these questions that whilst I might be OK as far as the posting guidelines go that people aren't happy with this being listed here.

This is my first time listing on the site so happy to take feedback with regards to the rules and clarification - and if it's truly not the kind of thing people are interested in then I'll remove the listing.

          Cheers :)

  • The biggest problem is that this isn't much of a bargain. you are selling it for $132, I am sure you could negotiate that price at JB/HN and get full warranty. Microsoft's student price is $135 delivered and you can get a cashback/points that are worth more.
If it was $100 delivered that would be a bargain and I reckon you would get quiet a few positive votes and sales.

    • I bought mine at HN the other day for $120 no sweat.

  • You're a sole trader not registered for GST, your business is only very loosely related to the product you are selling and you only have one feedback score as a seller on eBay

Looks to me like your trying to make a quick buck by flogging a few keyboards you got cheap, this isn't what OzBargain is about

  • +3

This is just some bloke on EBay selling some keyboards he's picked up cheap somewhere, and just happens to have an ABN (which anyone can easily get). This is not a store or any sort of official, consistent operation so being able to uphold your consumer rights against this guy in the future is very doubtful, and looks like has only sold one thing on that EBay account.. The saving he's stated is a joke also, and has no relevance to real world pricing from stores.

    • or you could just claim it directly with microsoft like anyone else with common sense

  • Didn't realise there's a free listing promotion on over at eBay currently - have adjusted the price to reflect the fact I don't need to cover those fees.

This is closer to what I wanted to list at and hope it makes it more attractive to people.
Unfortunately I can't drop the price any further as I need to cover my cost.
