Thank you, updated.
Here is possibly the only working download link for a very good mod that adds a lot of weapons to Fallout 3.
http://www.4shared.com/folder/eMscwxBN/Apocalypse_Armory_v2.…
It is called Apolypse Armoury v2, but like almost all of the good weapons mods, it was banned on the Nexus for no justifiable reason. The moderators on that site are extremely uncool.
Another large compilation was Toxa's Arsenal. The only link I could find was a Soviet site: http://modgames.net/load/fallout3/oruzhie/arsenal_mod_rc6/21…
The Book of Earache is also very good, and only seems to be available at the dying FilePlanet: http://www.fileplanet.com/216904/download/Fallout-3---Book-o…
I guess the name is the inspiration behind the mod Book of Silence for Skyrim (it is a weapons and armour retexture though, not a loot adder).
A New Vegas version is to be acquired here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/book-of-earache-vegas-edition/down…
20th centuary Weapons survived the Nexus putsch: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/18668
I had to make a few changes to the esp to get Supermutants to use the weapons that were added to their loot lists.
To get multiple weapon adding mods to cooperate you have to use a bashed patch, since they all change to loot lists and in the Fallout engine only the changes from the last mod to a particular cell are kept. Archive these mods in case the links die.
Thanks for the post.
Glad I could share some of my knowledge. I played fallout 3 partway through, and intend to restart it one day (Skyrim takes precedence at the moment). You might need to create a L/P for 4shared.
I like the FWE overhaul, but because it increases weapons damage values you need to find Compatability patches or edit them yourself. One day I might release some on the Nexus.

Have fun.
I'll definitely need to play it again. I played a little bit of it once but I killed one of the guys near the town with the big bomb. I couldn't progress thereafter and they attacked on sight so I just rage quit.
It is always good to keep backup saves before doing something risky. Megaton is the only friendly settlement early on in the game, so don't piss them off. The brotherhood of Steel (powered armoured army guys) are also your allies, so don't try shooting them up either. If you want to start shooting ealy on, pay a visit to the school in Springvale ( or whatever the first ruined little town is called). There are lots of bandits to clean out , especially if you have Marts Mutant Mod.
@Thaal Sinestro: Will do, thanks for the info!
Great work Thaal.
On second thoughts, while I appreciate you compiling this hard-earned list together Thaal, I can't say it's made me look forward to trying them out; I mean dear friggin' God can those modders get their sh*t together with their nonsensical naming conventions, 50,000 mod revisions (use this, don't use this, maybe use this; how about just get rid of everything aside from the final version?), 20,000 optional sub-mods, link-within-a-link-within-a-link download links, and arcane, Byzantine instructions? I managed to get a hold of them all easily enough, but installation is entirely another matter. Not to mention the inevitable 5 hours of looking for a needle in a stack of needles, to figure out which mod keeps CTD'ing your game.
Is one of the BEST post apocalyptic RPGs out there. At this price, its a no brainer. Even all the DLCs add unique side mission story lines and well worth it.
Damn, looks like I missed it.
Its back up to $10.79 now
Magaton :)
It's $1.89 USD from GMG with code GMGAUS-30J9MF-MUINWW:
