Neat price, but I've only ever played the original Crysis… :P

Not Really a cheapest. Last week Origin store save 70% off. You can actually grab it on Mexico origin store —> $3.8

      But nice try

      Cheer

      • If it was 70% off, that would make it $6 (down from $19.99). This is cheaper.

        • 6 bucks is from your original Origin store. Using VPN, switch it to Mexico Store, then you'll see the miracle :P

    • I've only ever played the original Crysis

Then you haven't missed anything; the sequels are the same generic, lame-brained FPSs that you can expect from one of the most unimaginative developers around. It's another 5 hour long technology demonstrator.

Yeah, they're only really fun until the Aliens come around and ruin the game. Gimme the suit so i can go around smashes skulls and ripping throats, as opposed to endlessly shooting aliens any day.

      • I think the problem was Crytek selling out and dumbing down the game for the console controllers and CoD kids.

        • Crytek was founded on the principles of selling out and dumbing down. They peddle graphics porn, that has no substance behind its shiny facade.

From Far Cry 1 to Crysis 3 (obviously excluding Far Cry 2 and 3, which are Ubisoft Montreal's creations), the gameplay, story and design is almost identical (I use the word "story" extremely loosely as Crytek couldn't have an original thought to save their lives).

Take an exotic locale full of eye-candy-filled vistas, turn it into the site of a chaotic slugfest and divide the campaign up into two halves, with the first being a proverbial walk in the park against dim-witted humans and the second, a slow grind against over-powered, non-humans.

Throw in some incredibly large levels, with the objectives evenly spaced out from enemy camp to enemy camp, and a host of generic vehicular companions to make travelling easier. Top it off with a grandiose boss battle at the end.

That is Far Cry, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 in a nutshell.

The only worthwhile thing the mind-numbingly, brain dead hacks at Crytek ever did was inspire Ubisoft Montreal (who can actually make a game) to spin-off the series with the far more interesting Far Cry 2 and 3.

I think I'm in the minority. I absolutely love this series. The story is pretty bad as of late but I just love the combat, it's fluid and everything works how it's intended to. The graphics are beautiful and unmatched and regardless of the story, it's a consistent series. IMO.

      • Crysis 2 was the biggest load of crap I've ever played. Is 3 any better?

        • +1

Yeah as much as I loved Crysis and Warhead, Crysis 2 was really disppointing for me. I feel that taking it out of the jungle really hurt the game.

        • @AlanHB: Actually yeah I agree. Crysis 2 came out when EVERY open world game was in New York.

        • @kaneissik: Admittedly I didn't finish the game because the plot was boring. Maybe I should give it another shot. I vaguely remember I was told to find a guy at a place, he wasn't there when I arrived - he'd moved and told me to meet me at the next place. Got to the second place, he'd moved again.

I'm pretty sure when he stood me up the third time I bailed. Nobody needs friends like that.

      • The story is pretty bad as of late

        As of late?

The series kicked off with a story drawn up over a coffee-break about a guy in a Hawaiian shirt (his most distinguishing feature) who gets ship-wrecked on a island full of mercenaries, run by a mad scientist dabbling in genetic mutation experiments which create half-ape, half-human hybrids with rocket launchers strapped to their arms.

Then it graduated to the most cliched, sci-fi fable a video game can use for inspiration: a generic, aliens versus humans battle for survival, complete with with aliens arriving on Earth in a meteorite, aliens that can fly, aliens that transport themselves in gargantuan motherships and aliens that have no other motivation or purpose in their lives, aside from "KILL ALL HUMANS". Naturally 'Murica and its Marine Corps come along to save the day.

Whatever the gaming equivalent of the Golden Raspberry is, Crytek should be winning it year after year until they (hopefully) go right out of business.

        • I don't remember any mutants with rocket launchers strapped to their arms… You don't like playing an American that always saves the day? It's my favourite

        • @kaneissik: The bigger Trigens of FarCry 1.

You don't like playing an American that always saves the day?

Not after the thousandth time. Especially not when the character is a completely unsympathetic walking bundle of stereotypes.

        • @Amar89: You won't like the Call of Duty series then ;). Those mutants remind me of Serious Sam.

        • @Amar89: Say what you will, but Crysis 1 was a stone cold classic and pretty damn innovative if you ask me. The sequels on the other hand were watered down crap in comparison.

        • @kaneissik: I'm proud to say I have not touched the Call of Duty franchise since it left the WW2 era. Nor have I ever played WoW. Two things that should tell you I'm not really mainstream when it comes to gaming tastes.

        • @Amar89: You haven't played Call of Duty since Call of Duty 3? Understandable. However you are denying yourself some absolute classic moments from Modern Warfare 1 and 2, as well as the fun of Black Ops.

For an extra ~ $5 USD you can get the trilogy from Nuuvem, which includes Crysis 3 Digital Deluxe Edition, plus:

    • Crysis
    • Crysis Warhead

    • Will it use Steam ?

      • +2

No, Crysis 3 is not available on Steam. You can register it With EA's Origin though which is very similar to Steam in operation and makes it easy to download on any of your PCs.

  • Nvm.

  • Steam or Origin?

    • +2

LOL. Crysis 3 will never be on Steam.

  • Not a bad deal, but I will never buy an Origin game ever again. They banned my account "due to a chargeback" which they cant explain when it supposedly happened. Never claimed a chargeback ever.

  • what drm is on the crysis trilogy? (aside from Origin etc)

    • Crysis DRM (amazon.com): "Origin"
Crysis Triology DRM (nuuvem.com.br): "This content requires the application Origin for activation, download and installation."

  • cheers, was a great way to blow my $5 remaining amazon credit :P

  • awesome. thanks for that

  • Cheers OP! Been waiting to use that bow and arrow on a budget :)
