planning a trip to Venus bay VIC. had a look at the government site and am aware of the 2litres catch per person but do i n need a fishing licence?

Oh god, upon further research i think NSW residents need license to collect / gather shellfish too.. I remember i went with a group of friends to collect, a few months back, not sure if anyone has a licence. Never again..
I realise it's a bit late but just in case others read this. For Vic, anyone who is participating in pipis collection needs a licence unless you're exempted (e.g. under 18 or over 70).
Yep one per person over 16 y/o iirc,you can buy day passes for ~$3
i was just planning me and the misses. but now thinking i might aswell just buy them locally and save myself the drive lol.
obviously you and the misses are members of a traditional owner group fishing within an area subject to a natural resource agreement relevant to that traditional owner group. ergo sum - you do not need a licence.

It says here, unless exempted, you need license for gathering shellfish. To be sure, why not call license outlet and ask?
I wonder if you come in group of 5, and 5 gather pipi but only want 2 liters for the whole group, how many licence will you need? 1 or 5?
Getting a license just for pipi is a bit unozbargain thing to do i reckon, but i'm sure you ll have plenty of fun :D
