Bought a VF 4G pocket wifi Huawei modem from a previous deal, and have been trying to get it to work with the $1 Telstra pre-paid $30 sim from another recent deal, with no success.
I've checked on the VF unlock webpage and the modem isn't locked. I've activated the Telstra sim, popped it in and the display on the modem reads "Telstra" and shows a 4G connection, however internet does not work on any device connected to it.
Going into the modem's config page, under connections, it says "disconnected". There is then an option to choose "custom". It then asks for ipv4/ipv6 APN which I've entered "telstra.internet", however when I click on save it kicks up a fit and a field goes red: "ipv4 - ipv6 number"
I've searched all morning on google and there doesn't seem to be a fix for this. Just spent 45 mins on the phone to 5 different Telstra reps and non of them could give me an answer either.
Has anyone used a non VF sim in their pocket wifi modem, or know what the correct APN settings are for this?
IPV4/IPV6 APN = telstra.internet
IP4/IPV6 Number = 1234 or *99#( possible any random number might work)
all other settings left blank.
