Credit Card Price Guarantee: Can It Be Used on Flight Prices?

Hi,

I was wondering whether any one has called upon their Credit Card price guarantee?

Im particularly interested whether you can use the price guarantee for International Flights?

And ifso, how would you go about validating your claim?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a link to your credit cards price guarantee terms and conditions. That would be the best place to start.
Each CC is going to differ depending on who is underwriting it.

    • Amen.

  • Hi,

    Guaranteed Pricing
Guaranteed Pricing Scheme reimburses Citibank cardholders for the difference in price, up to A$500, between a covered product they have purchased on their card and the same covered product advertised in a store produced catalogue.
    Eligibility
All Citibank Credit Card cardholders are eligible for the Guaranteed Pricing Scheme when the whole purchase price of a covered product is charged to the cardholder's card and the price difference is more than A$75.
    What is covered?
We cover you for the difference in price, up to A$500, between the price of a covered product and the purchase price of the same item advertised in a store catalogue that is produced after you purchase the covered product, provided that:
    The cheaper covered product is new, the same model number and year and produced by the same manufacturer as the covered product purchased;
The cheaper covered product is available from a store within a 25 kilometre radius of the store where you purchased the covered product; and
You make a claim under this cover no later than 60 days after the purchase of your covered product and provide to us the store-catalogue advertising the cheaper covered product.
Please read the entire policy to make sure you understand the details of the cover provided and to ensure it meets your requirements.
    Cover limits
This cover section does not apply to covered products purchased or advertised exclusively on the internet.

It would seem the T&C's kill your idea on at least 2 points.

*. It covers products purchased - not services provided. Hence the requirement for "same model number and year and produced by the same manufacturer"

An airline ticket IMO is the purchase of a service not a product.

*. The product must subsequently be advertised in a store produced catalogue - "between a covered product they have purchased on their card and the same covered product advertised in a store produced catalogue."

Airline tickets are not advertised in Catalogue form.

    Basically keep dreaming.

  • Flights are specifically excluded with Bankwest, at least.
