  • Clicked on the first link for A7 body + 28-70mm Lens, comes up with the bonus being a metabones adapter. If this is the actual deal/bonus please amend your op thanks

    • Hi Plebmuffin
Please add the product to cart and you will see the 28-70mm lens added at N/C. Thanks!

      • Would it come with adaptor as well as the lens?

        • Hi there
Yes the bonus metabones adaptor is still available via redemption from Sony as well :)

        • @CameraPro: hi if i order an a7 tonight would it be possible to express post it to sydney to receive it by friday?

  • Is there price for the A7S body only?

    • A7S Body only is $2049 which includes the Bonus 28-70mm Lens

      • +1

That's not the body only then. :)

        • +1

You can choose to not accept the free lens then I guess…

        • @williewuboy: It's not free.

The last deal from Gerry Gibbs had the body+lens at $2199 and the body alone at $1999, which means the lens cost $200 extra.

If Camerapro sell the body+lens kit for $2049, it would be interesting to see what the body-only price is.

        • +1

@eug: It's entirely possible that they just sell the body for $2049 normally…?
That's what I understand from the phrasing above. Body only $2049. With or without the lens.

        • @williewuboy: IINM lens bundle deals like that are usually set by the distributor as it wouldn't be financially viable for a store to bundle it themselves, unless they somehow managed to get their hands on a cache of cheap lenses with full local warranty.

Camerapro sells that exact lens for $299. It sounds like they're doing the Gerry Gibbs $2199 kit deal for $2049 which is a great price, which makes some people wonder what they could do the body-only deal for.

        • @eug: they obviously don't offer that by itself (like Gerry Gibbs). I assume It'll be like trying to get the cheaper discounted price of a big Mac in a large meal but without buying the chips or drinks in a meal. Good luck with that. You can either take the free lens or just don't get it so you can get body only if it natters to you that much.

        • -1

@Orpheus: That's a poor example. I guess you didn't get my lens kit bundle comment above.

  • Fantastic price!

  • Seems like a really good price for the RX100 MkIII

    • +4

      VideoPro is $31 cheaper? Link

      • Thank you sir/ma'am

    • recently was cheaper at jb with $150 voucher included as well

Great price on the A7, the RX100 M3 is so-so.

I wouldn't get the RX100 M3 personally, it's a great camera, no doubt about that, but it's also horrendously overpriced compared to what you can get elsewhere.

You can spend a little more and get a Fuji X100s, which will fall in price because of the new X100T, which is a superior camera with a larger sensor. If the X100s isn't your style, then the Canon G1X M2 is similarly priced and superior as well, with a larger sensor and better IQ. If you're after a small camera, the Canon S120 can be picked up for less than half the cost of an RX100 M3 and is almost as good.

    • +2

      you just hate sony?

      http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canon-powershot-g1-x-mark-ii…
      - I know it is just another review online but if you go to conclusion and add RX100 m3..it killed canon in almost all categories…

Then if you go to Fujifilm, yes it is better than RX100m3 in a lot of categories but in focus and metering Sony still beat it. Sony is cheaper too…

      • And even smaller.

      • -4

No, I say that the A7 is a great camera at a great price and it's able to do great things. Right now, it's the cheapest way to get into 35mm full frame, arguably better than the Canon 6D and Nikon D610 for less money. It has great features, a growing lens selection and is all round great value. If it weren't for the A7II coming out soon, I'd really recommend buying it.

However, the RX100 is overpriced. Even comparing it to the A7 w/ lens here. Do you really think the RX100 is worth 73% of the price of the A7? If you think I hate Sony, think again. We can compare within Sony if you want. The RX100 is still very overpriced.

For less money than the RX100, you can get an A5100 with the kit lens. That's a better camera. Bigger sensor, interchangeable lens…etc.

For about the same money as the RX100, you can get an A6000 with the kit lens, that is a vastly superior camera in terms of autofocus, the number of fps it can shoot…etc. There's no competition between the A6000 and the RX100.

For not that much more money, you can get this A7. Let's not pretend like there's any competition between the RX100 and the A7.

Let's face it, there's no way that an RX100 should be fetching more than the Sony A6000.

        • +4

You clearly don't get the point of the RX100.

          Size, size, size.

        • +1

As others have said, you are completely ignoring the camera's size.

You keep comparing it to cameras which have totally different feature sets, and are all much bigger. Can you fit the A6000 with lens attached in your pocket? And you you better have some big ass pockets to fit a Fuji X100S in there. Not to mention that the Fuji X100S doesn't have a zoom lens, and can't do video worth mentioning.

You could at least compare it to competing cameras such as Canon G7X or Pansonic LX100. Instead of a X100S, a more worthy competitor (taking size into consideration) is the Ricoh GR. And forget about the A6000 when there is the Panasonic GM5.

So yes, comparing it to a A7, I do think it's worth 73% of the price for people who value portability and size over high-iso/low dof etc.

No, let's be real, the most important feature for a camera is to give you what you need to take good pictures. An A6000 is a faster camera, has a superior sensor, shoots higher fps, is nicer to handle. Sure, you're not going to fit it in your pocket with a 70-200 f/4 lens, but with one of those pancake primes or even the kit zoom, it fits in a pocket just fine.

When I go out photographing, I can easily carry a full-sized Nikon body with a lens around my neck, a speedlight in my jacket pocket, a full-sized lens such as the 24-70mm f/2.8 in my pants pockets and even a small prime in my other pocket, not to mention I can slip filters into my back pockets easily.

When I'm out and about with my X100, I just hold it or put it in my pockets. Fits easily.

An X100s or an A6000 is no problem at all to fit in pockets, unless you're wearing tight jeans. If you are, it'll fit in your jacket pocket. If it's that big of a problem then just hold it or wear it around your neck.

You could at least compare it to competing cameras such as Canon G7X or Pansonic LX100.

I'm not familiar with the Canon G7X. The Panasonic LX100 is a different camera, with 4K video and is more expensive than the RX100. I still believe those buying the LX100 buy it for the video, much like those who buy the GH4.

And forget about the A6000 when there is the Panasonic GM5.

I compared it with the A6000 because people accused me of hating Sony.

So yes, comparing it to a A7, I do think it's worth 73% of the price for people who value portability and size over high-iso/low dof etc.

Fine, but let me put it to you another way. The first generation RX100 is so much cheaper at around $400. Is it worth almost double the cost of that?

Be real - the RX100 M3 is overpriced for what it is. For not much more, I can get the Sony A6000 + a pocket camera such as the Canon S200. Around $100 more than the RX100 M3, and I get a real camera + a pocket camera.

I wish people stopped jacking off at the RX100, it's a nice camera, but people going on about it inflates the price beyond what it is truly worth.

          For you.

Not everyone is like you. There are many other people in this world. Your requirements are not the only requirements that everybody is allowed to have.

If you're happy with easily carrying a full-sized DSLR with lens, a flash in your pocket, another two lenses in your pants, and filters in your back pocket, then go right ahead. But not everybody is like you. When people go on holiday they don't want to look like a magnet for thieves or carry 4kg of camera equipment when they're walking everywhere the whole day, or hiking up a mountain.

There are plenty of other people in this world too. Surprise surprise, different people have different requirements, priorities, and reasons for using their camera.

I actually had a first generation RX100. To me, the RX100 iii is absolutely worth the premium.

With cameras, like phones, you often do find yourself paying a premium for features that may only sometimes be useful to you. So for me, I would definitely pay the extra for two things.

          1. The brighter lens. The widest aperture at maximum zoom on the Mk1 was a letdown.
          2. The EVF. I dislike only having a screen. It's the main reason I haven't got myself a Ricoh GR - a camera I otherwise simply love.

I had an experience at start of this year where I wasn't allowed to take an Olympus EM-1 into a venue because it was a "professional 35mm camera" according to the security guards. An RX100 or similar camera would have gone through in my jacket pocket camera no problems.

And sure, a S200 would have be fine too, but I'm ok with the somewhat premium price to get the best quality for the size.

        • @paulsterio:

24-70mm f/2.8 in my pants pockets

Sorry.. I missed this first time around. If you have pants pockets that big, then yes, I can see why this camera is of no benefit to you :)

No, let's be real, the most important feature for a camera is to give you what you need to take good pictures.

And for me, the RX100 iii gives the best pictures for a camera that can fit in my jacket front pocket (where I forget it is there until I need/want it). Only thing that would come close, would be a Ricoh GR, but then I'm stuck with a prime lens and no EVF.

LOL @ offering the Fuji X100s or the Canon G1X series as an alternative to the Sony RX100 series, one of the defining features of the Sony RX-100 series is the the size - the Fuji is seriously larger, and the Canon G1X series is not even close

The Sony is not horrendously over priced, unless the Canon G1X is too, because the Sony does pretty much what the Canon G1X does (even better in some instances), and yet does so (with more megapixels) in a significantly smaller package :-)

You might as well tell us that a Canon DSLR has a bigger sensor too :p

    • +2

Why would someone after a small zoom camera (rx100iii) get a larger camera with a fixed lens (x100). Terrible advice.

  • i want the sony a5100

  • +1

Wow. Very good price for the full frame camera and the lens. Lens itself is more than $400. Getting the adapter is also a big plus enabling you to use Alpha lens which might be good in price than the Full frame ones.

Would have gone for this, but recently bought the A6000 with two lenses.

    • -1

Sell the a6000 and get the A7.

      • Wont get the price and it will be a pain to sell all and get this. Would have pulled the trigger if the deal was available few weeks back.

    • Me same story as yours

  • Rep, Can you do a good price for Sony E mount 35mm lens?

    • How much would be "good" ? :p

      • Haha. Like he did for a7 compared to rrp.

    • +1

      Hi
Currently our best lens pricing is on the 24-70 F4 & 70-200 F4, if something comes up on the 35mm we will happily let you know

      • Ta.

  • Insanely good value on the A7! However I srsly think the A7R is still overpriced, it doesn't worth $700 extra imho.

  • very tempted to buy one, it would be awesome if the cashback offer from Sony is back.

  • yeah great prices… i f only i had another $1000… almost half the price on the a7 compared to B&H!

  • ohh… what?! I should pretend not seeing this post…

  • Mmmm tempting.. kogan has the a7 body only at $1569…. ARGH! must stay off ozbargain, when i have no job!

  • Just a friendly note that the special A7 Pricing is available only on an initial 50 units. At current rate of sales this will likely be sold out before the weekend is out.

    • +4

Errr….that's a serious omission from the deal. Can you put that in the title and/or description please?

    • Well, Better mention it in the deal itself as it is not friendly enough to disclose later. I will remove my +ve as it is cheaper now with DigiDirect. Do not like extra fees on paypal/cards either.

  • +1

Good prices but take note of the following payment methods in the Help & FAQ section.

"2. What payment methods do you accept?
CameraPro accepts all the major payment methods including cash, EFTPOS, Bank Transfer, Bank Cheque, Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Paypal. Please note that all prices on our website are quoted based on cash, bank cheque, money order, bank transfer or EFTPOS.
A 1.5% Surcharge applies to Visa and MasterCard, 2% on Paypal, and 2.5% on AMEX placed through the website and in-store."

  • I just wish there would be some Pana GH4 Christmas specials.

  • Rep,
I am considering the A7S plus the two F4 lens, which will make the bonus 28-70 redundant. IS there a price you can advise without the 28-70? Its a kit len but sure it cost something.

  • +1

Rep, Can you do a good price for Sony E mount SEL35F18?

    • Yes please. Dying for good deals on E-mount lenses.

  • +6

Guys, Digidirect are doing the Sony A7 deal slightly cheaper here:
    http://www.digidirect.com.au/slr_cameras/sony/sony_alpha_a7_…

    • +2

      Indeed.

As they have a storefront in Sydney CBD I'm most definitely buying from them…not to mention surcharges from you guys when paid by cc etc, whereas digidirect only charges extra if using AMEX.

    • An also hope that this deal will last till they do their 10% sale, plus TRS SWEET!!!!

      • When is the 10% sale?

        • usually after christmas

    • Also digiDIRECT don't have surcharge on credit card payment.

    • +1

Price is now $1,069 on this deal. Looks as if we have some healthy competition :)

  • -1

Consider the E-M1 in your buying decision! I recently got one, it's not full frame but as a whole ecosystem with the lenses, M43 is doing some amazing stuff

    • I had a m43 before buying a7 and a7s, I would certainly not buy a m43 if you will be using high iso.

    • Yea m43 is amazingly overpriced that's for sure!

      http://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Compare/Side-by-side/Sony-A7-…

A7 is pretty much $600 body only from this deal, and EM-1 is $1k and Oly call that a sale price? Pathetic.

      • I have the EM-1 and the A7S. Both are good and both have their own strengths and limitations. But, posting this here is about as useful as the people who post Android phone deals in iPhone posts, and vice versa.

  • Hi OP, what's the general delivery turnaround time? Would they arrive before Christmas? Is there express shipping? Cheers

    • Hi,
We are outside guaranteed delivery before Christmas now, however we typically aim to ship within 24-48 hours, faster where possible. Due to large volume we would expect to ship early next week if you ordered now, and this would be by express shipping, however we cannot guarantee receipt before Christmas

      • Hi Rep

        has the price gone up?

  • There's $30 gift card from Sony as well! What a bargain! :)

  • +1

Hey Rep, looks like you made wee revision mistake.

You reduced the A7 price from $1097 to $1069 in the title.
But, in the description you reduced the A7 price from $1097 to $1047. Website price is $1069.

That makes the 'inc surchage' price still $10 more expensive than digiDirect's $1075, however the website price for the A7S has dropped from $2049 to $1989!
Even with your unpopular CC surcharge, at 1.5% it's an additional $29.84, making the A7S total $2018.84 - $50 cheaper than digiDirect.

You might consider updating the A7S price when you fix the A7 price.

The A7S is tempting… especially with YouTube vids like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mctD-hu4s9U

  • could you please check the price of A7 again? it is $1097, not 1061!

    cheers!

  • I really seem to have missed the boat on picking up an rx100m3
December saw some prices in the 600s or JBs $750 with $150 voucher.
Now Jb is selling for $999 and everywhere else is $800+

    What's going on? Aussie dollar?

Guess I have to wait for another great sale or eBay coupon deal unless someone else knows of a good price on the rx?

  • Same here Greenspoon. Bit gutted that I didn't pick one up then, but was waiting for when I travelled which is in the next two weeks.

    • +1

There's still hope then, maybe a deal will pop up in the next two weeks!
All the eBay coupon weekends seem to have dried up though.
Even saw the RX sold during the 15% off toys coupon. Some Lego character AND the RX100m3 hehe.

Oh well maybe for the best, give me a chance to try the LX100 panny as well and compare… not that it's any cheaper.
