  • I grabbed Metal Gear Solid, never played this one and it just doesn't work well with emulators been that you need such tight controls

    • Worked fine for me. I played it on vita. Change up the controls a bit. The controls of MGS games aren't that good to begin with and that was the first one. So I don't think emulation is the problem.

      • Why the negs?

        • +1

no idea, I meant the android emu. so only soft buttons with actual feedback which is what it needs.

        • @Infinite Monkee: ok I think because I misread your post :p

  • +2

can you play them on vita or ps4?

    • Most, if not all, should work with Vita. I don't know about PS4 unfortunately.

If in doubt, check the store page.

  • +1

Do these games work on the PS4? Would love to play a few rounds on Tekken 2.

    • +4

No, they will work on PS3, PSP and PSVita only

No Jonah Lomu rugby :( best psx game

you getting yourself addicted to the MSG series like me eh …

    • +1

ha already am! MGS2 was the first I ever played on PS2 and was instantly in love >_< in fact it was the demo of MGS2 that came with Zone of the Enders that got me hook line and sinker. Played all of them expect PS4 ones since (don't own one yet)

  • where is the best place to get a ps+ membership?

    • For Australia? No where. Sony don't sell actual codes for us, so you need to buy credit to then buy it full pirce ($80 I think) from them. So unless you can get the credit for cheaper then its full price.

      • more after the PlayStation Plus membership

      • I'm sure I've seen PS+ memberships at EB before.

        • same but not really keen on paying sticker price. :)

        • @djfish31:

You'll have to wait for the PSN credits sale or something then you buy the membership with the credits.

        • @djfish31:

          My tips
          - Get discounted giftcards to DSE etc and/or use cash back
          - Get PSN giftcards when they're on sale
          - Wait for PSN+ to go on sale, or give bonus 3 months

        • +1

@blahman: Wait for the PSN credit sales and then wait for the PS+ subscription to go on sale (direct from the PS store). $69 is the normal 12month price, on sale it is is typically $55, if using PSN credit from one of those deals it's even less maybe about $48.

I'm sure another ozbargainer has done the maths here before. I probably have this wrong but the last 'add $80 and get a bonus $15' PSN credit promo was 18% bonus so future purchases with that credit are effectively 18% off?

  • Keep getting error "We've encountereted an error while processing your order. The transaction has not been completed. Please try again later."

    • worked fine for me, just slow. the Sony website seems pretty rubbish.

      • I'll try again after work - not having much luck at the moment.

Really keen to get a RPG and fighting game for Vita, so this couldn't have popped up at a better time. Have never played FF7 before so that's a given.

In terms of Tomb Raider and Tekken, is there any general consensus as to whether the sequels are much better than the originals? Given the price I'll likely purchase both, but wont bother if the sequels are much better.

        • You've never played FF7 before? Duuuuuuude.

Great game, graphics totally dated now, but still a great game.

        • my first Tekken game was Tag on PS2, as far I know they just got better and better so maybe 2?

        • @Spectator:

Nope. Was a huge fan of FF8. Can't explain why I would play one but not the other.

        • FF7 is good, but not FF6 good.

        • @blahman:

I bought FF7 in a previous sale but I hear that the battles are really slow which may be a bit if a turnoff.

      • Turns out it doesn't like any of my credit cards. Only explanation I can think of is that I have a New Zealand PSN account and am using Australian credit cards.

  • Is the Resident Evil bundle worth buying? Enjoyed the movies but never played the games before.

    • There won't be movies if games suck. But keep in mind they are PS1 games so don't expect PS3/4 graphic.

      • Or wait till next year for the RE1 remake.

    • ah these are in that one sorry, different link so I didn't see double ups

  • I wonder if the FF VII version here will be updated to include the PS4 emulated version when it comes out.

    • +1

It won't be. The ps4 version is a port (which basically means it is a ps4 game, not being emulated) of the pc remaster from a couple of years ago, whereas this is the original psone version of the game running on an emulator on your ps3 or vita. So…even though they are basically exactly the same game, they are different games…if that makes sense.

      • Yeah that does make sense. So because they actually have to do work to get it onto the PS4 it'll probably be charged separately. Damn.

  • Why are there two versions of Tekken on there?

    https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-au/games/te…

[edit] And Tekken 2 for that matter.

  • IMO this is how much these 15+ years old games should be worth usually…..man psn aus sucks balls even dlc's cost a F'king fortune. Just shows you how bad it is when EB is a cheaper alternative…..
