    What rubbish

Are you the ones from the recent episode of Shark Tank, Bottle Breacher?

    • No Neil. We are Australian based and orders are shipped from within Australia.

      • I'm not picking on your spelling, just offering a correction:

All products are hand made from de-miltarrised real bullets

" All products are handmade from demilitarised real bullets "

Thanks Thrift for picking this up.

For anyone thinking of downvoting OP for apparently "ripping off" Bottle Breacher's idea, it's not a new idea - people have made bottle-openers from large cartridges for decades.

Several years before Bottle Breacher was established, a couple of ex-US servicemen set up Bullets2Bandages to make and sell .50-caliber bottle openers and aid charity.

Yes there are quite a few companies in the USA that have done this for sometime.

We have actually been selling these for nearly 8 months at markets and independent bottle shops. But due to the huge demand we had, we setup a dedicated website to sell them online also.

          @realbullet:

But due to the huge demand we had

yes, I can see how everyone would want to buy one of these…

        • @jv:

That's what I thought when I saw that Shark Tank episode. Those guys made $500K in sales per year before appearing on the show and weren't even the original ones.

        • Op can you point me to a bottle shop around Doncaster/Eltham region in VIC that has these? It's a perfect gift idea for someone on my list, but I'd like to get a look close up and also avoid the $6.95 shipping fee!

        • @neil:

Those guys made $500K in sales per year

I was referring to normal people Neil, not Americans…

  • How do you get around the legality of a live round or part thereof being sold to people with out a compatible license ?

    • it's not live…

All products are handmade from demilitarised real bullets, they have no active primer and will not explode. They cannot be used again in a gun.

      • …or part thereof…
From what has been explained to me when seeking empty casings, even if used, you still require a license to possess them.
If this is not the case, it is advantageous to me, so curious if this has changed or I've been incorrectly advised.
If not, I'm prospectively saving people criminal charges.

        • +1

From what has been explained to me

Was the explaination given by your state's firearms registry?

You don't state your state in your profile, so using NSW for example, two snippets from the NSW Police Force Firearms Registry FAQs factsheet "General - Firearms Amendment (Ammunition Control) Act 2012" (PDF):

Do components of ammunition constitute ammunition?
NO. Components of ammunition do not meet the definition of ammunition provided
by section 4 of the Firearms Act 1996:

          and,

Does discharged ammunition meet the definition of ammunition?
No. Discharged ammunition does not meet the definition of ammunition as provided
by section 4 of the Firearms Act 1996.

Section 4 of the Act defines ammunition as having a primer and a projectile, or a
primer, a propelling charge and a projectile. Discharged ammunition does not contain
a primer, a propelling charge or a projectile.

Even if discharged ammunition has the projectile replaced for display purposes, this
does not meet the definition of ammunition as the primer or primer and propelling
          charge are missing.

The factsheets explain what is considered ammunition (covering things that do not meet the above definition, like airgun pellets and blanks).

Accurate information is available from each state's firearm authority.

        • @Thrift:
          Good information, thank you.
Mine came from a gun shop in my state.

    • 86 - Missed it by that much.
