I know Big W gift cards are meant to only be used at Woolworths, but an ozbargainer mentioned that he purchased the Big W gift cards at 7.5% off from the entertainment book and used them at Woolworths? Has anyone tried this?

The only expection is the Returns Card (given when you return a product without receipt) which can't be used at the liquor stores, Caltex and Masters.
There is also a 'groceries only' gift card that will only work at Woolies, received one once from a spend x over x weeks to get an x gift card and was only able to use it at Woolies.
Awesome so that means an extra 7.5% discount at Woolworths and Dan Murphy's, I don't think many people know about this?
You Know Dan Murphy has just put up heaps of prices to cover that umm discount
If they have it's only on certain items, most of the spirits bottles are the same price

Yes I've used Big W cards at Woolworths before.
If you are a QFF member you can redeem Big W gift cards cheaper than Woolworths gift cards.
used bIG W e-gift card (currently 7.5% off buying from entertainment book)…used at Wollies, Masters NO problem at all.
So I believe any Wollies GROUP business are accepting it.This is why I am confused, Woolies own Masters but you can't use EDR card there ?

Bought $500 Big W e-gift card from Entertainment book. went to Woolies and bought a wish card with it. so now free to use any woolies owned companies. off to Masters tomorrow.

Firstly, since this thread was started, things have changed regarding the use of Big W egiftcards. You can no longer use the Big W egiftcards in Woolworths or other stores outside Big W.
Big W plastic physical cards can still be used at other Woolworths group stores.
To use an egiftcard instore you need to choose the egiftcard payment method at self serve or tell the checkout operator you are using an egiftcard. Type in the number of the card, the number of digits varies depending on the type of egiftcard. Press enter and then type in the PIN of the giftcard. Some egiftcards have a different card number depending on whether you use them instore or online. You'll need to print a copy of the egiftcard in order to use it instore or copy the relevant numbers onto something and check them when using the card.
If you have a Coles egiftcard there is a barcode you can scan which puts the card number into the system so all you need to type is the PIN.
Yes, all Woolworths store specific gift cards (e.g Caltex Woolworths, BIG W, Dan Murphy's etc) are WISH Gift Cards and as such can be used at any Woolworths owned business. Have used Big W Gift Cards at Woolworths plenty of times, no problem.
