Nothing new but I guess it's good to inform those who are relatively new to OzBargain.

  • Is it better to take the $5 off than 500 points.

Isn't it 1000 points equal to $5? Bit silly to accept the 500 points then.

but the $5 comes with the condition that you HAVE to spend $100 in order to get it. Some people don't spend $100 at Coles in a hit.

Gift cards are excluded in total? I'm shocked with inflation that most people don't do at least $50 shopping per person per week.

Coles sell a lot of stuff. DVDs, phone credit recharges, magazines, clothes even.

Stock up on items. It's a once off, or monthly $5 deal, so you only really pay $95, not like you're having to spend $100 every 7 days.

It's only 5% but adds up. 500 points is just silly. Take the $5.

        • i'm shocked that most people don't share my spending habits(!)

        • @tdw: Must be either skinny as a stick, or fat as lard.

    • Generally the $5 voucher gets posted on here, so print some out to keep handy and claim the points :)

That probably won't be happening anymore … https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/159761#comment-2424581

        • Dang!

        • Bloody hell!!! Maybe we should just try a discreet forum post instead? ;)

@itsfree: It takes 5 minutes to do the survey, plus if you want you can provide some genuine feedback. I've provided feedback before and had the issue fixed.

It used to be 1000 points

    • yep. went down to 500 points in july

As my shopping at Coles is always less than $100 (since ALDI has opened close by), the points are better for me.

  • You must be new here

    • I'm sorry?

  • Is this over yet? I can't find the Terms and Conditions anymore… They removed it.

    • The deal was still running at the start of January 2015. I did a survey earlier this month and I've already received the points.

      • Sweet, time to go to Coles then!

Been on this deal for a couple of years - good stuff all round. We spend over $100 on a weekly basis so completing the survey once every couple of months and then printing a number of copies to redeem weekly is the way to go. It's a great bargain/deal saving $5 a week.
Completed the survey last week and the voucher is valid until 2 March 2015. Good times.

    • yep print copies …i have been using the same one that someone posted on here a month ago…discount always comes out as $5.01 ..don't ask me why

      • When you scan the voucher it adds one cent to the total of the transaction. When the voucher is factored into the transaction the $5 plus the one cent is taken away from the transaction total.

I wonder what would happen if your transaction total just happened to end up as $99.99 before the voucher was scanned. One cent would be added to the total to take it to $100.00. Would the $5 discount then come off the total or would the system recognise that there wasn't enough groceries to make the voucher take effect?

  • Is it fair that since I don't have a working printer I'd brought a copy of the email, and they wouldn't accept that as a legitimate voucher?

Did the event ended? The survey ended without asking for the choice of reward anymore…….

    • As far as I know the rewards are stil going. I did the August survey on all of our family member accounts and have already received the 500 points for them.

I did however get a strange email from flybuys offering me 50 points for a survey. When I eventually got the link working I ended up on the Tell Coles survey. I did the survey as quickly as possible and the last page then redirected to a message saying I would get 50 points for the survey. I then saw a comment on the flybuys facebook page yesterday which appeared to indicate that the Tell Coles survey is changing to 50 points instead of 500 points. I'm not sure what's going on there. I think there is some confusion about the normal way of doing the Tell Coles survey and the flybuys targeted way of doing the survey. For me it is an additional 50 points for doing the survey again but I hope they don't change it for everyone.

    • same here :(

After reading another thread and doing some research myself, it appears Coles are no longer rewarding people for the Tell Coles survey. No prize draw, no points and no $5 voucher.

  • Also just completed the survey and no offer of a voucher - bugger

  • me tooooo!!!! :(
    <insert big dummy spit>

  • If they change it to 50 points no one will do the survey anymore.. .

  • Yessum, it is confirmed. After doing survey just now and chatting with mates at Coles, the survey big points and dollars are kaput. It was good while it lasted, but now not really worthwhile if it is the points in bulk you want. But, as surveys are a way of changing things we do not like about Coles or otherwise, then as a survey is is still good, and 50 points is still a bonus. I did not get the offer of 50 points as stated by Pointscrazy, but surprisingly I did get invited to be part of their consumer survey panel.

So, I did the next best thing, also, to get a staff discount, I joined Coles. I will use my voucher tomorrow as it expires 31st August, and that as they say, is the final curtain.

    • Congratulations on getting in to the consumer survey panel. I'm still hoping for an invitation. I wonder whether they will ever have a refer a friend promotion for the panel.
