Help me to find a cheap TV for my Mum!

Hiya!

I want to buy my Mum a TV for Christmas, but I'm on a fairly limited budget of around $500.

I was looking at this one, but the only thing that stops me from buying it is the fact that I saw it at $399 earlier in the year!

This one also looks pretty good, although I'm not sure on refurbished items from JB?

I'm looking for something LCD, somewhere around 42" to 50".

Thanks in advanced guys! Any help appreciated! (SA btw)

Aldi 50 inch TV starting Saturday and it is $499

Never experienced with Aldi TVs as I only use Sony TV.

  the aldi one is a bauhn model. the older aldi 32" medion models have been reported to be problematic. I have one and it has been fine. my only beef is that it doesn't playback every format and the tuner is overly great. compared to my soniq 24" with inbuilt dvd which playsback everything and the tuner is awesome.
  
  so, the short answer is -I'd get the aldi one with a 60 return guarantee and if it doesn't work as well as you'd like then you can get a replacement in the post christmas sales.

    What no Aldi in Adelaide, that sucks. -_- then I am not really sure. Maybe just go into the JB HiFi store and ask the salesperson that best price they can do for the specific TV you want.
