Just a quick addition to this post, I noticed at Bankstown Airport Aldi the other day that the Blu-ray dics have been reduced to $12.99.

    • Silly me, I misread your thread as Blu-ray player=$12.99.

  • Nice, thanks. I missed out on the chopping block last time. Hope I get 1 this time around.

  • Thanks for the heads up. I've heard some positive things about those wireless headphones and $20 seems like a reasonable price to pay for them.

Edit: For those interested, the previous discussion on those wireless headphones can be found in this post - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/16564

    • Goodness! :P Just $20 … :)

Ah well, I was happy at $40 and so's my dad (I got it as a Father's Day present :) )

Nice to see other people will get what I think is a very good bargain :)

  • is it all store deals? Or particular store(s) only ?

Humm the catalouge I have in front of me is a bit different to the one shown here so I'm guessing it varies with state!

    • What I uploaded is from Queensland, and now they've put the new cataloge up online I see that they are different, but it seems that at least the Blu-ray player and DVD player are common, but perhaps not the headphones. I've changed the description accordingly so thanks for the pickup.

  • I wish you could call the stores and find out if they actually had the items, particularly big items

  • wonder, does the DVD has USB slot…

    • No usb but does play Divx & Xvid movie files. I bought 2 last time around.

  • Damn it got the blueray player for $249 Wednesday is there a policy to get the differnce on sale price?

    • Don't think so, however Aldi do have a 60 day refund policy if you want to go to the hassle of that route.

We'll refund or replace any item as long as you return it within 60 days of purchase – with a receipt, in its original packaging, with all the accessories.

    • Buy the $199 player (obviously no need to open it) and return it using the $249 receipt.

I have done this a couple of times when there has been a significant price change on larger ticket items. This was suggested to me by an Aldi staff member! $50 can't be sneezed at….you could use it to pick up a few blu-ray titles from Aldi.

  • How is the Blue-ray player. Does it have up-scaling capability? I remember, the last time they went on sale, it created lot of interest here.

I would appreciate feedback from current user.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks ash2000 for the link to whirlpool.

Checked up the Brandon Park VIC store, they don't have it here. The catalogue also does not feature the Blueray player. The staff confirmed that the Blueray Player is not on special this week.

Sad that Victorian would not be able to access a good bargain.

Does anyone know if Aldi would identify any stores having the player.
