  I've tried aliexpress for cheap usb sticks and they are always fake.

  even though I buy a ton of crap of aliexpress and there is great stuff to be bought, when it come to memory stuff then I tend to avoid.

  the fact this seller has 2 feedback make me weary.

    Thanks for the reply - it's just odd that how openly they can sell fake stuff. damn.
    What other things are okay to buy from AliExpress as per your experience?

      you are usually safe with most things that don't use electricity. i've bought clothing (be very very very careful reading the size guide), sunglasses, cables, household stuff, kids toys, cycling parts, jewellery (inexpensive wedding band +engagement ring for travel), goggles, mobile phone LCD /touch screen. kids clothes.

      brand items that are too cheap are usually fake. there seems to be too many of those 2Tb portable hdds suddenly on aliexpress. I was looking for them 6 months ago and there were very few and they were as expensive as Amazon (if not more).

      the unfortunate thing with aliexpress is most people get their 256gb USB stick and whack it in their computer see that it says 256gb and don't test it with H2Testw and then leave feedback. then a few months later after they have loaded the stick up with their movie collection (which uploaded with no problem) suddenly they find the movies won't play back.

      there is no solution or dispute resolution. maybe a few people have left neg feedabck and got hteir money back through aliexpress but the majority of sellers lose their money. and the seller then shuts down their store and opens another.

  I would say anything thats 'branded' on AliExpress (or similar type of websites) are 99.99% fake. That includes things they say are Samsung, Sony, Ray Bans, Nike etc.

  Ali express is good for cheap trinkets and the like but anything where you may need warranty service forget it.

  There are some very good dealers on ae but you must find them. don't shop by price alone.
