    Wow RRP $40.00.

  • No black commuters. And the only colour that is $19.95 is White/Gray. The rest are $22.95. And at this price, particularly with free shipping, I wouldn't be surprised if these were non-genuine.

Some of the fakes are really well done when it comes to the packaging and whatnot, but what usually lets them down is the quality of inner layer and that's really what you're relying on when it comes to impact absorption.

    • Because want to clear the stock for S4 Case , so does not come all colour, item is Genuine for sure, you will protect by ebay and refund for return with seller's cost.

  • I had a commuter on my S3. Lasted only 12 months before all the grey rubber corners started cracking. Also the usb & headphone covers fell off.

Not easy to remove if your a battery swapper like me.

I now have a Cygnett WorkMate which is very similar but better.

    • In contrast to that I had a commuter case on my S3 for just over 2 years and the silicone inner layer, including the corners and covers, remained in excellent condition. Before that I had a commuter case on an Atrix 2 for over a year and had no problems to speak of with that one either.

I suspect you probably unknowingly obtained a fake. The packaging for some of these fakes is almost flawless but having seen a few of them now it's always the quality of the silicone layer that is substandard. Usually it's some sort of cheap hard rubber instead of quality soft silicone.

      • The outer hard shell on my commuter cracked when I was taking it off literally three days after I bought it. The commuter is a pretty terribly designed case.

        • You were either unlucky enough to get a copy with a flaw, or you had a fake. Otterbox cases are much more robust than all this nonsense I'm hearing about bad quality rubber and cracked outer shells.

        • @cainn:

I purchased it from otterbox.com so it definitely wasn't fake. It's possible there was a fault in the manufacturing process but it seemed that the outer shell was designed to fit far too tightly.

Also, the rubber they use for some of the cases definitely is poor quality. My iPhone 4 otterbox defender was replaced three times under warranty due to the rubber stretching so much that the home button was unusable. They seem to have fixed this issue on my Samsung Note 10.1 2014 otterbox defender though.

      • Item come with 1 Year Manufacture Warranty.

  • any case galaxy s5 ?

    • S5 does not come with 50% off. Sorry about that.

  • Questionable deal here. I purchased my galaxy s5 otterbox commuter from a local Optus shop (Sefton Park, SA) in black, asked for a good price and was offered $25. I'd prefer to know it's genuine with no wait for the extra $2.05.

  • Had a commuter but didn't last on it for long. Was just too bulky for my liking, and then phone screen behaved bit erratically (staying off after the call was finished).

Have tried many cases including SPIGEN, but the best bang for the buck is ACASE-

  • No I think the commuter would be ok if you do not swap you batteries.

If you are a battery swapper like me it will fall apart as it is hard to remove.

I did a battery swap maybe once or twice a week & it fell apart. My case was Genuine.
