    Thanks mate

    • Not sure why you were negged, this link worked for me (but so did the first ones). It looks like a fig/ficus tree and fruit.

As mooney suggests below, post the query on a gardening Facebook group and they'll be able to tell you the specifics.

  • We had many of these types of question when we moved into our place. My wife joined a facebook group called 'friendly gardeners' they've a 100% hit rate for us. Super helpful.

  • Need to know which area and a close up of leaves. Is it a Camellia? Does it shed all year round or just spring / summer when most plants do?

    Lilly Pilly?

  • I agree with anna10. It looks like a camellia.

  • Yep, those new photos look very Camellia ish. There is a C japinoca and a C sasanqua. If you don't like the flower petals but do want to keep the bush, just pull the flowers off when they form and also then the fruit will not come either.

  • Thanks Anna. Much appreciated. I will probably remove the tree all together and plant a lemon or an orange tree in its place :)

  • You could try to dig it up with roots intact as much as possible, and preferably with some soil and move it. Best to do that once summer is finished, which is also a good time to plant citrus.

    • Even if I move it elsewhere, it will still annoy me with its shedding of dead flowers. I have a small yard, so ill take advantage of fruit producing trees.

Unless someone wants it, then they are more than welcome to uproot it and take it :)

  • A local landscape contractor / gardener may dig it out for you and pay you a few bucks too. Best to improve the soil a lot before replanting, and buy the best soil/potting mix money can buy. It's an investment in your property, best of luck and fun and exercise etc.
