I am the Sydney expert at buying stuff then said stuff going on sale soon or right after. Thats why I've waiting this long sigh.
I kinda agree that there are higher specced/performance tablets than the Z3 compact (one being the new Dell) but my GF will for definitely prefer the Z3 for its looks, not to mention its water and dust resistant.

It's still $450+ from US based sellers. I don't think you'll see any better prices especially considering it was just released a couple of weeks ago.
If you're dead set on this particular tablet for xmas I think $500 will be the best you will see. Personally I think the tablet is overpriced (and I own a Z3 compact myself) and you'll find much better value elsewhere if you're willing to compromise that "premium feel".
