Attn: Memopad 10.1 Owners - Faulty Motherboards

Hi,

I purchased a memopad when they where $199 at Myer. If you purchased one then and you are experiencing a screen freeze with funny black & white lines everywhere or you are getting random reboots then you have a faulty motherboard.

The warranty is 12 months and the myer deal was in June. You can read about the problem on whirlpool starting from here. If you are experiencing anything like this I would get into contact with asus while you are still in warranty.

They offered to pay courier pickup and return but the service centre was close to me so I took it in. The repair took 3 days. Asus support seems very solid.

Even if you have only had this a few times I would get it repaired in case it gets worse after warranty is up, for me the rebooting was happening every day and then screen freeze once every few weeks.

  • Damn. I bought mine from TGG last year in November and I have this issue… guess no chance of a free fix if out of warranty?
