I am always curious about the alternative file managers, and the lifetime licences offered by XYPlorer and Xplorer2 seem to be a better deal.
Better off pirating it if you dont even get the latest updates for something you pay for.
Agreed. My Windows 95 license should get me updates through to at least Windows 10, right?

This file manager rarely goes on sale. It has many configurable options that you don't find anywhere else. If you spend a lot of time in explorer then this is for you. I have been using it for years and still want/need to improve how it works for me.
I used Directory Opus on the Amiga a million years ago, it was easily the best file manager back then! I had no idea it was still around.
Not long after "buying" Dopus 9 they expected another $70 or $80 to upgrade to 10. Despite being far and away the best program of its kind I declined their kind offer and found it elsewhere at a much, much cheaper price :-)

No one mentioned yet that this software is made by Aussies.
I use it, and it is much better than windows filemanager, but you probably need to be a power user to get full value. I notice that although my license is perpetual, I stopped getting updates to the latest versions, so one fee doesn't keep you with the best version. A bit like windows licensing I guess.
