Well technically the white controllers fixed the thumbstick issue from the earlier models so they're essentially better?
But yes they dirty fast
@tyler.durden: I think the thumbstick problem is that the rubbers on top degrade quickly and become slimey, or at least that's the only issue I've had. A white controller after a month of use is still just as white as it was to begin with.
To combat the crappy stick issue I replace them with these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261490496870 (even on my white set), much better shape imho.

Did Sony ever fix the controller thumbstick issue? I keep hearing sale people trying to aggressively sell controller insurance (what?) to customers at JB Hifi…
Yep I got sold on JB's extended warranty which covers "wear and tear"
they compare the insurance to buying a new controller which is around $80-90 RRP where the warranty is around $90 for a direct replacement for 3 years
But im yet to hear any stories about the thumbstick issues from any of my friends who already have a PS4 and have been playing regularly for a while

With the constant barrage of PS4 deals, I just couldn't take it anymore and finally pulled the pin! Merry Christmas to me! I'm an idiot though and forgot to use CashRewards for 2% cashback. I should know better!
