This Item Is Not Available for Pickup or Delivery - WTF?

Finally decided to replace aging phone with the recently (and heavily) advertised Moto G 4G at The Good Guys.

Clicked on the advert and was taken to product page where it stated "Delivery : Not Available".

Clicked on "Free in store pick up", typed in my postcode and the note changed to "This item is not available for pickup or delivery". I tried a few other random postcodes (2000, 3000 etc) and they all said the same thing.

Every time I browse on OzB, the same ad comes up "Good Guys, Moto G 4G, Buy Now", but you can't actually BUY it now if you click on the ad…

What's the point of spending big on ads, advertising in the print media etc, but then not actually allowing your customers to buy it online!

  • It's probably a technical problem — maybe their databases have crashed or is under maintenance.

  • Call them. They are open till late on fridays.

Yes, I called the nearest store. "Ten in stock, no idea why youI can't pay online. Better come to the store", which is not much use as I can't get there before deal expires.

But It's really the principle that bugs me. Local Retailers are always complaining they're doing it tough, but when I TRY to buy local and pay GST then they won't let me!

      • post on their facebook page? They'll give you a raincheck so that you can go to the shop tomorrow and buy it at today's price.

  • Have you created an account? Have seen some go weird like that until an account has been created.

Hmm thanks for sharing, just another reason I hate Good Guys. Will probably never buy from them again for sure.

  • can't you tell it's just a gimmick? it's all to do with 'marketing' products online, you cannot and should not trust any 'ads' that just pop up randomly. google ads make money by monitoring your online activity… and there's not a damn thing you can do to disable them! the program called 'Online Analytics' always shows up whenever I start my internet session. anyone know how to disable this damn thing?
