The pentium N3xxx is also a low end chip, still in the ball park of a souped-up Atom.
I agree, a business grade laptop is always good for a budget buy.
They're well built, have plentiful parts available and generally good support.
Again, Dell will do an i3 one via the below outlet for $408 (inc delivery) and it's a solid unit.
The celeron/pentium N's are really efficient, but quite limited - they're also a reasonable downgrade in 'performance' from previous iterations.
I have this model, but with 4GB of RAM.
I use it for work, run Office 2010, plus a 3D CAD program (Design Spark Mechanical), and it does what I want.
I was happy at $399 this time last year.
You can get a similar unit at the Dell factory outlet.
Call the number at the top of the page and get your credit card out.
One thing to note - Celeron N2xxx series is actually replacing the old "Atom".
Granted, much more beefier specs - but it's no longer a "Scaled down Core series".
Id recommend if your budget can stretch slightly go for the touchscreen convertible models, they give you the best of both worlds.

Otherwise, there's a refurb one with similar specs to the HP for $239 w/ 1 year warranty
