From recollection, no. It's a clean speyside malt, little if any sign of peat. You may be surprised to know, but a lot of the 'smokiness' of JW Black is not from peat, but the insides of barrels/casks that have been toasted (whether or not they admit it). A cheap sensation of smoke, if you will. Get an Islay malt for a taste of the real deal.
Not a big deal when compared to Liquorland and I am sure there are other bottle shops with a similar price.
