Only place I could find that isn't a grey importer. Expansys have it for $744 here http://www.expansys.com.au/motorola-moto-x-2nd-gen-unlocked-… So I guess it's a pretty good price for local stock.

It's cheaper than somewhere else, not sure what the issue is.
Find it cheaper local then.
Because nobody else selling it locally suddenly makes it a bargain? Righto. You can get imported ones from Handtec or Clove for less. I just don't see how this is a bargain if it's at retail price.
You can get it direct from Motorola (probably need to use a forwarder though) for $359 on Monday:

Edit: Might have AT&T LTE bands (700/850/1700/1900/2100) though which could be an issue if you plan to use 4G.
Edit2: Looks like it has LTE 800/1800/2600MHz (B20/B3/B7) so might be OK after all.@dazweeja That works for us Aussies?
Should work on 3G (HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100). LTE will probably work too as it looks like it supports 1800 and 2600MHz which are the main frequencies used by Optus and Telstra in Australia. Would be worth confirming.

US$359 + shipping forwarding.
@dazweeja:
This unfortunately doesn't work. I tried this and my order got cancelled.Obviously you might get flagged for your credit card or your forwarding address but others might have success with different combinations (AmEx credit cards and lesser-known forwarders - AusPost ShopMate? - can sometimes work in these cases).
This is the exact combination I tried :) amex with shopmate. Received an email that there was a problem with my order and that I needed to call them to rectify, tho in the meantime the order is on hold.
I cannot understand how they set the price of moto x. Why would people buy it at that price? Instead of go for Samsung or Sony?
? It's a high end device, with competing high end specs. It's actually a great price I think. To be honest, I would choose this over a Samsung and Sony.
I'd say its a much better choice than samsung, and in comparison to a sony Z3, I'd have to think very hard which one to take.
if i want to pay that much i will definitely choose Nexus 6 at moment it is best android with all latest specs in hood if size doesn't matter for you guys
but a nexus 6 costs almost $200 more and the specs are almost identical.
Nexus got a bigger screen 6"
If one can spend 700 i dont mind paying 200 extra on top with unbeatable specs Moto x 2nd gen specs
snapdragon 801 processor

Snapdragon 805

android lollipop out of boxThere is actually nothing common between the two phones. The Nexus 6 is a significant upgrade well worth of an extra $200.
With the latest i9506 Samsung S4 (using S5 CPU and graphic) I really don't see the point to pay almost double for just a bit better.

Tell me what else worth $300 more? Same CPU GPU 2GB Ram, 16 GB Storage also with SD Card slot.
It's only 16GB with no SD slot. This is a definite pass.
Don't even know why Moto bothered.
How about Xiaomi Mi 3 if you dont need 4G, is it half the price $268 USD

Rather get Huawei Mate7 from local JB HIFI and Harvey Norman for around $600 - $630.
Awesome phone I have to say, good bang for the bucks.https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/Outright-Mobile-Handsets/hu…

This isn't a deal.
