I am looking for a bargain place to stay, in Canberra for one night Sunday- Monday. Can anyone help as the places look far too expensive. We are four adults so please help

Just realised that option seems to have a condition that you stay 5 nights, so this two bedroom one might be better at about $50 each:

Haven't been to their one in Canberra but have been to others which are okay, but their Breakfast is not worth it as they just have some bread and ceral out and you help yourself.

if you have a car, there is a cheap motel down near Geoscience Australia called Sundown Motel, kinda portable cabin rooms, very good prices. Most of them have 4 separate beds. It's a little bit more "out there" but canberra roads are never busy, and you'll get into town fast :)
EDIT: might want to call up, its around about $160 per night. The basic apartment has 4 beds (one double, 2 singles, and another bed in the living room), kitchen, bathroom and dining table.
Canberra City YHA on Bunda is right in the heart of Canberra and is hard to beat!

Safe to say Saturday and most hotels will knock you back (least the ones I checked). Have you tried wotif? A brief search reveals you can get a small 2 room appartment on Sunday night for $135+$22 for a 4th person = $40 each.
