Cheap Things to Purchase in Europe?

Hi all,

Wanting to know what's cheap over in Europe to purchase. Will be heading over there next week (got my Citibank Plus card loaded hehe) and looking for gifts/clothing to purchase for myself and others.

If you guys have suggestions that would be greatly appreciated thanks!

  • Depends on what's your definition of "cheap", really. For me, I would go hunting branded handbags and clothes. Brands like LV, Balenciaga etc you can purchase and get tax refund.

  • Clothes, sports equipment, pretty much anything you are better being somewhere in person to ensure correct fit…otherwise eBay is usually more convenient and you don't need to worry about excess baggage.

  • Berkenstocks

  • Half the clothes I own now I got from H&M in 2010 when I lived there. There also seems to be more variety in the clothing there than here (Perth at least). The season will be the opposite too, so you might be able to get some clearance summer stuff for when you get back. However, the biggest price differential you're going to find is in the price of tinnies.

Not really something you'd take back, but if you're in Austria try Almdudler - it's a soft drink with cultural status there akin to vegemite here. I was addicted to the stuff when I was there, but can't find it here anywhere :/

  • austria - beer. 45 euros for a 500ml can. awesome
