  • Looks to be everyday price. Is this a bargain?

    • +3

it's a whole 4c less than it previously was ;)

    • 5 cheaper than the cheapest tuna, so yes it's a bargain.

    • …yes, everyday… … Oh wait, wrong Supermarket chain.

  • +4

And to think of all those people I killed for a can of tuna in DayZ.

  • That's some pretty cheap tuna. Would be interesting to see whether these have a comparable tuna content compared to other mainstream brands though.

To those that may care - Thanks to its switch to 100% ‘pole and line' and FAD-free sourcing for both of its exclusive brands ahead of schedule, Aldi has climbed up to the third position. They have very strong traceability and a fair and independent third-party traceability scheme. Their labelling has also appreciably improved offering to the consumer a clear ‘pole and line' message on cans and in-store advertising. Just avoid Aldi's Oceanrise brand which is based on at-risk yellowfin tuna and choose it's more sustainable Portview range instead. further info

Thanks! That's good to know! Oceanrise was my favourite tuna range, but I'll look at switching to Portview.

Does Portview come in those big chunks like the Oceanrise series, or is it mushed up?

    • +1

So many words to say "buy our can!"

    • +1

But the yellowfin is the tastiest!

    • I care more about this

The ALDI Lime Chilli flavor is over 70% tuna. Way better than the mush Coles one that sells for $0.80, or the mush by Greenseas/John West. Only better deals to these ALDI tins that I've found in Melb being:

    • Safcol or Woolworths Select chunk style in pure olive oil when on special for $1.

    • Some IGAs sell Sole Mare chunk tuna 185grams for $2.55 in pure olive oil, inc chilli variety

  • GET IN THE CHOPPER!

    • GET IT RIGHT!

It's been that price for a year or perhaps more

    • +1

Err no. Catalogues clearly says 'was' 79 cents last week

  • +1

    smells fishy to me.

  • Here fishy fishy fishy.

  • +1

    What a catch!

  • It's not nationwide…tas doesn't have these stores.

You know the only difference with the cat food, is that they change the label, right?

    • +1

The catfood is more expensive. Wish they hadn't changed the label.

    • Not really true, food for human consumption has much stricter safety laws then food for pets. So while they could rebrand human food as pet food you can't sell pet food as human.

  • Had the sweet chilli flavour yesterday was nice and made for a cheap lunch in a couple of toasted sangas.

    • Fresh white bread and anything is awesome.

  • Maybe it is a Tumor?
