Currently have a Canon 700D with a $400 lens (will get brand and model when I'm home) but I'm going to sell the 700D body add cash and upgrade.

I have a $800 budget for body only.

I recently purchased the Omd but cancelled after a comparisons between the Omd and the 700D seen the 700D come with a way better review. So pointless replacing with something worse.

Mind you I'm not a photographer. I'm pretty basic, turn it on and take a photo…

What is missing from your 700D that you are seeking by upgrading? If you are not using any of the features, is it not a complete waste upgrading?

  • Omd? Olympus. I'm confused. And can't be bothered searching for what omd means. Very vague.

Onus on OP to spell out what abbreviations & acronyms are.

  • Do really need an SLR? Sony RX100 Mk3 will take awesome photos and videos (even in low light) and is pretty compact so you are more likely to take it anywhere. I have an SLR but hardly use it due to being bulky and a pain to lug around. Read some reviews on the Sony and also Canon G7X.

  • IF there isnt anything wrong with your 700D and you intend to keep your lens you will be stuck in the Canon EOS system, and there really is no reason to upgrade to a 70D and going to a 1200D or a 100D would mean you lose features.

Stick with the 700D if you are keeping your lens. If you want to get out of the EOS system you need to think about what you want/need/expect from the replacement.
