Is this the best XBone bundle to date?
Also, I am assuming the Halo is the Master Chief Collection?

    • +1

Yep from the picture that definitely looks like the cover of it! Amazing bundle

    • +1

What other halo is in Xbox one in retail :)

    • The bigw deal is still probably better. Its less games but its also $110 cheaper ($488 i believe).

It has less games, but all its games are triple A while trials, rayman and dance central are all cheap and you can pick up all 3 for less then $100 rather easily on sale.

Its not bad, but not the best.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/171380 that is still a better deal.

      • +1

Kinect is not included in that one.

        • This is true.

  • Wait is that an Xbox one, with kinect? Curious if the games provided are download codes or retail.
Either way you could surely sell all 7 games for around $100 -> $150 (after fees)
$450 Xbox One with Kinect technically?

    • It says right in the ad. Rayman, Halo and Trials Fusion are physical discs. The rest are digital downloads.

      • Darn ok - missed that, thanks dude.
Still reckon you'd clear near $100 for those 7 regardless.

        • you can clear up to 210

          Halo MCC 50
          COD AW 50
          AC Unity 40
          AC BF 20
          Trials 20
          Rayman 20
          Dance 10

          Total 210

        • @Zylam Marex: I would say those are incredibly optomistic sales figueres, bear in mind fees too.

        • +1

          @Zylam Marex:

Wouldn't it be hard to sell trials fusion, dance central and rayman?

I want to buy the ps4 bundle but I dont know if i could sell rayman and trails fusion.

        • @kngu32:

Try eBay's recent sales of Rayman Legends and Trials Fusion as a guide

        • +1

          @hamwhisperer:

Not really, Trials and Rayman being physical would go pretty easily at 20, even easier if you don't open them and advertise as new, they might be old but they are still next gen titles, plenty of mums and dads would be looking to get cheap games for their children's new console this holiday season.

The Digital AC BF has been going for 20 for a while, at worst you'd get 15, but 20 is realistically doable as you can offer paypal and emailing the code. Plenty of people on Ozb have sold it for 20 via email recently because they got it with all those Xbox One bundle deals.

Unity would fly out the window for 40, even if it is digital, advertise it as 50 and 40 dollar messages are guaranteed, could even hold off and wait for someone who would do it for 50, the games a new AAA title, 50 is a good deal, even for the digital version.

Halo MCC, being physical is same as Unity, it will fly out the window at 40 and you can hold out for a 50. I sold Horizon 2, around 2 weeks after it came out for 50 and I had used it.

COD AW would fly out the windows at 50 too, theres tons of kids that want that game and tons of mums and dad's who would be looking for a cheap one, 50 is pretty good.

Dance for 10 is just random.

        • +1

          @kngu32:

I cannot say with personal experience, I've only sold two next gen games, one being Destiny for 45 and other Horizon 2 for 50, both have been X1, I'm not too sure about PS4 but I can tell you this, Trials for 20 is a fair deal for both parties and I'm sure if you posted and add here or on gumtree, you'd be pretty successful with 20. I believe it's also the deluxe version which gives you the season pass.

Rayman might go for 15-20, I'm not too sure, however apart from Dance, the lowest for next gen titles is about 20 dollars, so 20 should be fairly easy.

I'm surprised not to see Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge in their PS4 bundle.

    • a demo of Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge

    • +2

      I would suggest feather touch.

      You have entered….power drive.

      • Do you wish to play again?

  • not so great games bundle for ps4..

    • +3

It's certainly not nearly as good as the Xbone bundle, but 4 of the 5 games have good Metacritic scores, and perhaps more importantly to many parents, are pretty child friendly.

…who am I kidding, they'll be buying GTA5 for their 8 year old.

      • +3

I heard/started a rumour they'll be releasing a PS4 slim console next month in which GTA V replaces the default firmware. The Blu-Ray and HDD have also been removed…

  • +1

I've noted in all the console deal threads on OzB that XB1 seems to have a lot more interest (posts) after it than the PS4. I wonder if that's also reflected in overall sales (which I thought PS4 was leading)?

    • +1

PS4 owners were contacted for comment, but we're too busy playing GTA V to respond.

    • +1

How is what I said negative? I'm seeking opinions on an observation.

Obviously some newbie Ozbargainers are lurking today… Hilarious.

    • I suspect that that it's the recent xb1 sales that have more interest now and consequently more comments/interest. In the first release of then next gen consoles the ps4 was cheaper and generally represented better value, combined with the xb1 bad press in the lead up to release. Only recently has the xb1 started to compete in terms of price and bundles. I believe the games available also made a difference since this halo master chief collection seems to be a big selling point for some.

I believe that if you did a poll of xb1 vs ps4 owners on oz bargain there would be more ps4 owners.

      • Thanks CyberGenesys - appreciate your insight. Cheers.

        • Also xbox live is a better service than psn, both have subscription services which psn is generally better, but for online gaming/servers etc xbox live is wayyyy better, psn is catching up

        • @Tal_Shiar: I have heard this too. Having never tried xbox online I can't compare, but I have had very few issues with Psn.

    • Most people have a PS4, they are now considering an Xbox One at a guess.
Also it's like looking at a car wreck - I wanna see if it de-crumples itself and keeps on driving.

    • because everyone already got a ps4 in the dick smith/ebay sales.

    • I also think that this time of year it is more perceived value, most gamers already have their console the more casual people like myself are still looking. Personally I have been sold on getting a PS4 but the XB1 bundles look so much better that I feel the PS4 bundles are overpriced….Sad thing is I know I would probably not play the bundled games much with either lol

But MS have certainly been out there with great looking bundles which should see them sell a lot this christmas

      • Xbox one can do so much more than just gaming
As an example, New media player update allows mkv streaming from nas/dlna

        Multitasking feels much snappier too

    • Fortunate/unfortunate depending on your view, I bought into the PS4 hype train at the start. I'm a little ashamed by it (the hype buying that is) and have a bit of buyers remorse.

The reason is because a friend bought an X1 and he has quite joy in showing me and telling me about all its features and constant updates. The list is quite long on what I perceive that the X1 does better than the PS4, and I will I admit, I am a little jealous of it.

I imagine I am not the only one. So there is probably quite a few of us whom are looking to buy the 2nd console now.

      • I don't have a PS4 or XB1 yet - largely as I've got a stack of PS3 to complete and the kids' WiiU ended up being more fun that I though it would. But, I always planned on picking up the PS4 eventually, and the core factor in that decision is Uncharted 4.

That was the franchise that pulled me into PS3 rather than X360 and really is a system seller.

If I go XB1 I may fret when Uncharted comes out in 2015 or 2016, and given how many games are cross-platform these days I really don't see the need to own both with the limited gaming time I have available!

What's exclusive to XB1 that's moving consoles - Halo collection? I still recall loading up the first Halo title on the original Xbox - man that was good - first surround sound gaming experience I had.

        • Well, first and for most, I would say go where your mates are (if you play online).

Outside of that you start to venture into fanboi land, where most of it is opinion. I don't own an X1 (yet) and still looking for 'that deal' - but was fortunate enough to borrow a friends when they went interstate for a week.

For console seller games, I would say yes, Halo is definitely a driving force for the FPS market. Forza Horizon 2 for the driving gamer (don't even get me started on the "forza killer" that drive club was meant to be). Generally most of the RPG market is multi plats.

Sunset Overdrive is meant to be good too - and the US sold out of the white bundles.

One thing that I'm insanely jelly about is the media streaming and just the integration of everything. That and the visuals differences between the two are grossly over inflated (imo)

But if your stuck on a franchise, then stick with it. Little mixed emotions that MS bought the Tomb Raider franchise like it did.

        • @Jimmy Hun:

Thanks Jimmy - all great points to consider.

I'll read up more on the media streaming differences between the two.

I did hear about the Tomb Raider development - I wonder if that will mean XB exlusive or just quarantined release (ie. only on XB1 for the first X months?)

        • @fookos:

I'm not too sure on the specifics of the deal, but I imagine its exclusive to Xbox for at least a year with PC release only - I doubt MS would throw its money around like that without it not coming to the PS4.

You only mentioned the game side of it, the other things I'm jelly about is basically everything else.

The Kinect is awesome. And example is simply walking into the room and saying "Xbox on" and his TV, Xbox and soundbar all turn on. Then as we were playing Forza, he got a call "Xbox mute". He also did some 'snap' stuff that was pretty awesome. When I borrowed his X1, I didn't get the Kinect. One feature I did get to see in action was the instant play thing. You click on the tile of the game you were playing and In seconds, it is exactly where you left it.

Its hard to describe, but I really had the feeling of "I wish my PS4 could do that". Don't get me wrong, I like my PS4,its very good and playing games.. but that's really all it does. I mean, it can't even stream movies without using IE and me having to screw around with Plex.

I'm not going to sell it and keep it for the exclusives, but after playing with the X1 myself - I'm going to get it.

        • @Jimmy Hun:

Nice - always good to hear detail like this - that only comes from personal use and comparison.

          Voice commands - nice.

  • 3DS and new 3DS now compatible with Gateway3ds

  • This is a really good deal

  • if you really want a bundle, you can also consider the dick one http://catalogues.dicksmith.com.au/catalogue/dick-smith-cata…

      • It was posted here

      • Existing online harvey norman members were sent the discount coupon…many of us had multiple hence shared with fellow ozbargainers for their benefit….

      • Where did you sell them? Gumtree, ebay, friends?

        Good sales value btw.

        • yeh just locally off gumtree. I wasnt expecting nearly that much for them, i just threw those prices up because they were slightly cheaper than JBHIFI (but still alot cheaper than EB and Dicksmith) and i was expecting ppl to try negotiate a bit off but noone tried :)

  • These deals are getting better and better. I've heard that EB games are going to bring in a pretty good bundle on Friday. I'll probably wait to see what all the fuss is about.

    • +1

They have a similar bundle with 7 games, I think the titles vary slightly but I assume the download token games are the same as supplied by MS

They will also have another bundle with 5 games
