Hey guys. I sold an iPad 2 with iOS 8 (fresh install) on ebay recently. No issues with transaction or postage. All details of the tablet were clearly disclosed including hardware, operating system version and condition. It was in excellent working condition.
However a few weeks after the transaction the buyer is threatening to leave negative feedback because they feel the iPad is 'too slow'.
I think the buyer has hopelessly unreasonable expectations from a 3.5 year old tablet. I made no representations of the speed, and even stated that I was upgrading to a new model. Surely the buyer should be aware of the capabilities of what they are buying, especially in a private sale. The A5 processor with iOS 4 was reasonable in 2011 but it's not exactly snappy now.
What should I do?
It is always a risk selling IT items as you never know the skill level of the recipient.
I would just hang in there until he does something, sometimes a slightly disgruntled purchaser comes to realise that they should have checked the products performance more and therefore some of the blame is theirs.
You have written to him explaining that the ebay ad fully disclosed all specs and age of the ipad.
If he was expecting the performance of a current model unit then that is what he should have purchased.
