  • Wondering if these are authentic? The $15/19 ones.

    • +1

Hopefully they are. Got some $15 Classic ones for Christmas Presents.

FYI Ozsale offer a 14 day return if your not happy with purchase

    • +1

they're not terribly expensive watches to begin with so i wouldn't doubt it

  • Thanks EC. Bought Watch-W-59-1V-Lcd (50m water resist compared to 30m) as a backup watch. Used your referral link :-)

  • Theyre probably authentic. Wouldn't recommend a plastic one. The band is thin and breaks after a few months. Better off with metal, if you can get it fitted

  • yeah bought a class as well, you've good taste EC :)

Thanks. I used to love these when i was in my teens. Brings back good old memories of being the cool kid

  • Apart from the look, what's the difference between the $19 and the $35 silver classics? Any features worth paying the extra for? Anyone know? The oz sale descriptions are almost the same.

    • +1

I just bought the cheap SS one for $19 for myself and some $15 ones as gifts, Would have loved the gold one though

      • I might go with the silver $19 too

The main difference between the $35 (A168WA) and the $19 (A158WA) is the illumination system. The A168WA has Casio's electroluminescent backlight, which is an even green backlight, and the A158WA has the standard LED light in the corner. The electroluminescent backlight makes the A168WA slightly thicker than A158WA.

Both are excellent watches, although $35 isn't the best price for the A168WA, you can get genuine stock off ebay for ~$25 for that model.

$15 and $19 are competitive for the F-91W and A158WA, supposing shipping is included.

Oh my… I think I used to have one of these as a kid… flashback!

  • did they restock as i was browsing or something? I swear there were some items out of stock and now they're not marked as such any more….

    Do I need one EC?

I have one of these for a work watch (nurse)….. fantastic! Classic design, unchanged from the initial release 25 years ago. The battery lasts for 10 years as well. Easy to clean!

The plastic band is fine about 6 months in for mine.

    Buy it!

I usually try to post screen shots for all my deals from ozsale.

          no worries PVA :)

  • Curious, what's "the marketplace(r)"?

  • I bought a plastic black Casio watch, which I think is just a reskinned version of the one in this deal, for $10 and couldn't be happier. The watch face is a bit small, but it's served me very well (has not lost a single second) for the past few months. If you're worried about it not fitting, I'm a HUGE fella and it fits on the second last notch.

Wonder if your CC will get charged AUD or some other currency:

"*$51.00 converted from 35.66EUR at a rate of 0.7 (bank sell rate) being suppliers suggested retail price in Italy, converted to AUD. Product not necessarily sold by others in Australia."

"Orders are dispatched directly to you from the UK. "

I paid with PayPal and the charge is $19 AUD plus $1 delivery

    • Charged in AUD.

Ozbargain is about saving money, and a $4 saving here is a $4 spent on something else on Ozbargain :)

      • I did purchase one from your link thanks. Just thought it would be a good Christmas pressie and wanted to get some before then as the est delivery was 24-27dec. Thanks for the great deals.

    • Another one at $17 from Sydney. Good for anyone that wants them for Christmas presents. http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/370816923572?nav=SEARCH

  • One of the silver ones
    $18
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Casio-Silver-Digital-Retro-Illumi…

EDIT: hang on…I just realised this one looks slightly different from the one in the OzSale going for $19. Not sure what the difference is though. They both look pretty similar. If someone knows, please advise.

I almost bought the plastic one a couple months ago, but found this bad boy instead for an extra 5 bucks on eBay. 5 bucks well spent for me.

    • Mind sharing the link ?

        Should be this one,http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AE-1000W-1B-Original-Casio-Mens-Watch-Standard-Digital-Black-10-Year-Battery-/400809721476?pt=AU_Watches&hash=item5d521efe84

        • Yes, that one is version 1B, its newer and the map is blue, mine was 1A map is grey, its your preference. Link here. Post from HK, takes about 2 weeks.

Its basically a standard good old casio watch in a shell similar to a G shock. Best of both world :D

  • Cheers, purchased

  • Back in the day. these watched cost RRP about $20-25 and 30 years later they still sell for about the same and they are still nice watches (the gold s/s particularly but thats my personal pref)… The Japs did an awesome job on the quartz watch, thats for sure! The swiss are still in their was so were the Norwegian's with Nokia; even the automatics from sea-gull china are being referred to as the new rolex of Asia; and thats for (complex) automatic movement's too…. The funny thing is swiss watches have 40% foriegn parts, ie/ asia in them, YEP even the expensive ones often have mostly asian parts.

  • " $19 for the stainless Steel "

The watch is not stainless steel. The case is made from chrome plated plastic and only its band is SS.

  • What is the difference between "F-91W-1YER" and "W-59-1V"?
One better than the other, or is it just aesthetic?

  • Just received my stainless steel Casio. Thanks EC.

  • Received mine today too! I think it's genuine. It looks pretty good except i had some little indentations inside the stainless steel band… at least its on the inside not outside right? i suppose for $20 its ok
