  • Thanks OP, wanted to try this one before purchase.

    According to the news link:

available this Saturday, November 22, at 12:01 a.m. ET

I believe thats not for another 4.5-5.5 hours or so in aus (depending on state/territory).

    • The AUS Twitter and Facebook just posted it a few moments ago, so I would assume our market would get it now or soon at least

As said I own the game so its always going to say 'play' for me :)

    • +1

I'm in Sydney and it's available now.

      • Brisbane, still not available.
Might be a daylight savings thing, will check again in an hour.

i have gold, i have xbox1, but dont want to spend a few hours to download only for a few hours (at most) of play. it is good for those who almost decide to buy the game

    • Im pretty sure Xbox One supports play while download feature?

      • +1

They say they do. They also say they support play as you install. To this date have never had it work off downloading games or installing games for that matter. Mind you connection isn't too fast

        • Have had it work for installing, never tried with downloading.

        • +1

@ObservePolarity: It sort of worked with The Crew beta - you could play through the intro, about 15 minutes of game play..

Ryze was the worst! Installing from disk tools literally days, and it was apparently "playable" the whole time.

        • I downloaded SO, it let me start the game at around 30% but got stuck on the menu screen. Finally got into the game at around 40% I think

          @ryang:
          I've heard that.
Worked well on Battlefield 4, could play within 5 mins of starting install, finished up while I was playing campaign.

Titanfall was another story entirely, took forever to install and run.

Download size is 23GB. Maybe if it was for the entire weekend I would download but not worth the bandwidth.

  • +1

So is this 24h max over weekend only or 24h over months etc?

Scratch that just read it- until 23rd. Wont have it downloaded by then with my connection :(

    • Same… Trying though!!

  • Little update from Major Nelson:

    Update as of 11, November @ 7:25p ET/4:25 PT:

It is only working in console right now. Xbox.com still shows it as “not available.”
We are unlocking the standard edition of Sunset Overdrive. You will still see a purchase price for the Day One Edition and Deluxe edition.

The game is showing up for free in the Gold Lounge, so that’s probably the fastest to find it.
On the Xbox One Home Screen, clicking in the lower right slot that promotes Gold discounts will show the free Sunset offer.

I suck at formatting, so I removed the quote I attempted.

  • Seems to be showing on the SmartGlass app now so im guessing its active? (AEST)

  • Jealous of anyone that can actually download 20gb in 24hours :(

    • -1

actually you (sorry, i mean many of us) dont even need 24hours to download 20gb.

      • +1

I'm currently looking at my halo game unable to play it because it started a 1.5gb update by itself and that is going to take me about 2 weeks and I can't cancel it or play it xD

  • +1

Started downloading about an hour ago and it let me start playing at 30% or just under 10gb.

btw, in brisbane with a canadian live account

    • +2

…for 10min! it let me play the opening scene then "please wait for the game to finish installing"

      • Gaaah! Hate that! They could learn a lot from a couple of MMO games, most will install the base and the rest whilst you play through. It's not like you need the last level loaded to begin!!

      • +1

That happened to me. I waited until 40% and was hoping it would continue, but nothing happened. Went back to the dashboard and quit the game (closed the app) and went back in and the game continued where I left off.

    • that's kool

  • Time to try finish this game in 24 hours.
