Has anyone successfully rooted MK808B? I tried Moborobo but it wouldn't recognise the device.

I rooted my MK808b from Geekbuying a few years ago.
It involves a lot of commandline adb and a twin mini USB to usb-A cable from memory (need the twin miniUSB to both power up the MK808b and send it data).
It wasn't particularly easy to do and took a few goes to get the timing right.Guide on xda or Freaktab, can't remember which, both are easily found by the most cursory Google search.
After doing that, I also installed Clockworkmod recovery so I never had to do it again!
